Do you think we'll go back to using a FB this year?

You could also argue Alualu might have an easier learning curve as a FB due to having a better understanding of DL play. I'm sure it can't hurt

Quote: Carrying a FB on a Game Day roster who isn't a major contributor on Special Teams is difficult unless the FB is going to see action much more than the typical NFL FB sees on Offense in this era. I agree that the FB has to be a major special teams contributor to fit on the game day roster. In my opinion drafting a FB in the 6th or 7th round isn't very unreasonable, if you're going to get a FB you might as well get the best FB in the draft class, particularly because they tend to stick to the team that drafted them at a very reasonable salary. The Texans chose Jay Prosch in the 6th round with a compensatory pick, and he is great contributor in short yardage situations. He's a beast at lead blocking, but it's also nice that he has great hands and can run a short yardage inside play on misdirection plays.

Can we leave the personal insults behind for a while and get back to some semblance of topic, gents? Please, and thank you.

Real fullbacks understand defensive line play as well as anybody on offense. Also, putting Alualu on offense increases two unnecessary risks: illegal man downfield penalties and injuries. Why do it when you can have a real fullback?
