It isn't like they have a team feeding their players 'roids like certain teams in the 70's or are cheating the salary cap like a certain 2 time champ in the 90's, or were throwing to receivers using illegal stickum (gasp---also the GOAT, Rice, regardless.)

 

 

Brady is the best ever.   If you can live a lie that he's not......that's your misfortune.  That lie gets stuck in your gut every time.

 

I'll be here making sure I'm savoring the time of watching the GOAT.  I did with Jordan.  I'm glad I've had the chance.

So, it wasn't uncommon that a team won a game on the final play while trailing the entire game.

Anyone who knows me as a poster knows I'm the furthest thing from a troll (surprised at that accusation Darlo). Admittedly I was pretty drunk when I went on my rant, and in the interest of giving credit where it's due, Brady is clearly an absolute monster.


Still think it was strangely convenient, but I really don't know how the NFL could rig games, cus obviously no player wants to put bad film out there.

As far as I understand football, it is impossible to separate a player from the team that surrounds him. Yes, certain positions are more visible than others but I feel confident in stating that nothing is accomplished on a football field on a singular level. In other words, you can't go it alone. So when you consider Brady, you must also consider the Patriots in their entirety. And note that they have more undrafted players registering snaps played than any other team since 2007. Within that time frame, they have been to the Super Bowl four times and have won two.

 

This leads me to one almost glaringly obvious conclusion; that New England not only enjoys having an all time great Quarterback, but they also enjoy a coaching advantage over most every other team. Between the continuity from having Belichik's culture established and operating for 15+ years, and the obvious preparedness that the team demonstrates for most any situation, it's obvious that they have what every other team needs, but so few can acquire.

 

This is not to take anything away from Brady or what he has accomplished. He is an absolute lock for the Hall of Fame and deservedly so. But do not discount the job that the coaching staff does there. That team is prepared and seemingly never gives up and that speaks directly to the coaches investing the time and energy in the players.

 

Would that we could be so lucky.

I agree with your statement to a certain extent...

 

Remember what Brady did when he actually had a very talented player like Randy Moss? No offense to his receiving group but if the Pats had our receivers, they would torch every NFL secondary without any trouble.

And I don't doubt that Brady's performance numbers would increase with better talent around him, but that actually proves my point in a roundabout way. Yes, Brady is still successful with lesser talent, but that lesser talent is coached up to be able to perform at a championship level. While I don't think that New England would be in regular Super Bowl contention without Brady, I also think that unless the New England Defense steps up to hold Atlanta scoreless for 20+ minutes of game time, that we'd be wondering when Brady would ever win another one.

Brady is a master of accuracy and timing. Belichick is a master of game-planning and scheming for different opponents. 

 

They both contribute to the pats' success meaningfully.  I guess we could try to quibble about which is more influential on the W/L record, but it seems pointless to me.

I wonder how much longer he will end up playing? It can't be much more then 4 or 5 years at the most can it? I guess the real question is how long can he remain playing at the level he played during the 2nd half of the Super Bowl, although he looked mighty pedestrian during the 1st half though?

 

When he finally does end up calling it a career with his 5 rings and counting.........................., who will become the next Brady? I sure don't see anybody out there right now that's capable of winning 5 Super Bowl rings, not in this era of FA where great players leave their teams for a huge contract with another team.

 

Only Eli and Big Ben have more then 1 Super Bowl ring, and they only have 2 each. I don't see either of them getting to 5. Wilson got as close to 2 rings as you can get, but only has the 1 as of right now and Seattle isn't the dominating team it was for those couple of years.

That's one of the stupidest things I've seen recently.

Spygate: The patriots were filming the Jets, which was/is 100% legal to do, but they were filming from the area that wasn't allowed to be filmed from(it was allowed the previous year). Not much of a scandal when you break it down to the simple facts right?

Deflategate: The footballs were 100% tested and proven to lose the exact amount of air that was supposedly "deflated" under the normal temp drop and playtime. This has been demonstrated by multiple third party sources. But you can't spend a few million on and investigation only to end up looking like a fool..... Not to mention that the NFL made it a point to record the psi on the footballs the following year...funny how they straight up refused to release that data. I know why Not much of a scandal when the simple facts are broken down right?

 

Both cases were EXTREMELY blown out of proportion and do not discredit Brady or Belichick one single iota to anyone with at least 2 functioning brain cells.

Breaking it down like that is all i needed to see.  I wasn't doing my own research BTW.  

 

All in all though, if that's what all the smoke was about, He is without a doubt THE BEST and that just makes the NFL look that much worse.
