Could Dalvin Cook be used as a WR/RB..
|
I know he's a really good RB But what if say we draft this guy.. Utilize him in the passing game also..
Wouldn't that benefit this team more than Leonard Fournette.. Tell me what u guys think about this scenario.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
T.J. Yeldon's specialty is catching passes from the backfield. We don't need to draft another RB to do the same thing. Wide receiver is not a need. What we do need is a RB who excels at running forward between and around linemen.

Just to take that a step further. If we draft Cook, is Yeldon surplus to requirements.

Dalvin is an every down back by the looks of it. But I think if we did take him he'd be primarily the bell cow at RB. As he should be. He's an excellent runner with quick feet and quick first steps once he has the ball in his hands.

If we want a guy that can line up at WR/RB more fluidly and naturally. It would be Christian McCaffrey out of Stanford. I would be fine with him being here if they see him sitting on the board still in RD2. But I honestly have a feeling that a team like Green Bay or New England will be eyeing him towards the bottom of the first round.

He's a good athlete. He's quick. Shifty. He has a good pedigree with his father having had a solid career in the NFL as well. Just seems to be the kind of player New England likes. And he would fit their system to a tee. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Considering how there are always three or four teams at year's end that are starting the fourth RB on their depth chart due to injury -- Yeldon would still be very valuable in that scenario.
It's not like Dalvin is tiny. He has the frame to be an every-down back. If we draft him, it's with the intention that he'll be touching the ball 15-20 times a game probably.

Curtis Samuel should be our target if we are wanting an expensive RB/WR dual threat, and Pumphery should be the cheap RB/WR we target day 3.

I am a big fan of Samuel coming out of OSU. I think he could easily replace Grant and Robinson on our depth chart. And he could be there for the taking in RD3 possibly RD4. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. I'd be mildly surprised if Samuel lasts until round 3 and shocked if he lasted until day 3.

Obviously we would draft him to play RB because that is our position need right now.

But he would offer a lot of different looks and could be the difference between Robinson, Lee or Hurns breaking one deep down the field as he serves as a decoy underneath. He's a freak athlete. If he tests well at the combine and hits the 4.4 or faster mark in the 40 yard dash he'll probably go somewhere in the 2nd RD. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Does "somewhere in the second round" mean a 30s number? We already reached for a part time RB in Round 2. If Samuel is valued near #35, I am all for picking him. If McCaffrey ends up slipping into RD2 it will stagger everyone down. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie?
