Antibiotic research is critical, we're too close to the end of the line with what we have.

I'm working on a very novel surveillance method. I can't share details but it's very cool. Antibiotic resistance is a significant issue, that needs to be addressed. Actually, to some it is pass the crisis point.

Interesting fact: Antibiotics aren't the only stressors that select antibiotic resistance. Metals, radiation, and other chemicals do so too.

Check this video out. It's fascinating. Also extremely scary. Bacteria evolve rapidly:

They won't let you research anything that could hurt their profits.  Like a cure for a chronic disease.  Or anything they can't patent, like elemental iodine or silver.

Gotcha. Working with viral stuff would be freaky. At least with bacterial you have somewhat of a 'safety net' with antibiotics to my understanding. The book is called "The Hot Zone: A Terrifying True Story" by Richard Preston and it's about Ebola and it's origins, incidents and how is spreads. It's on Amazon for $8.

Sadly profits are why most diseases will never be cured.

I don't share your cynicism although I understand why you might feel that way. Finding effective treatments takes a tremendous amount of time, effort, money, and manpower. This is why I am fine with government funding of various public health projects. NHI, NSF, Oak Ridge and other national laboratories, CDC, etc etc do a lot of excellent work that helps benefit you in ways you wouldn't even think of.

Maybe you can start a new anthrax database to replace the one destroyed at Iowa State.

Well, it's more that people like Jenny Mccarthy are convincing the rubes not to get their shots.

If you can prove the shots are safe you will collect $100,000 from Robert De Niro and RFK Jr.  Easy money, go get it.

Yeah, I'll get right on that.

You'll just have to inject the same amount of mercury, adjusted for body weight, that a baby gets during vaccination.

Let's see these terrorists try to burn up a town with a REAL President in charge.

The 8 year free ride is definitely over.

They'll be headed to prison by the truckload.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

You not the least concerned that people may view you as less of an American due to your background in the current toxic climate?
This is where I get triggered.  The difference that you and your like minded friends cannot seem to differentiate is between legal and illegal.  Legal immigrants are offended that they did it right and struggled to do so while illegal immigrants were given a free pass for bypassing the rules.

Let me break it down for you.  You stand in line at your favorite amusement park for a ride you love with your kids.  As you do so, in the sweltering heat you notice some people jumping over the chains in the queue from behind you and they surpass you in line.

In this scenario do you (A) applaud them for breaking the rules?

Or (B) resent them for breaking the rules?

The toxic climate that you misunderstand is the ire is not the back ground or race of the wrong doers but the activity by the wrong doers.

One final thought, who is the racist here?  Me for looking at the actions of the individual or you for looking at the race of the individual?

Decisions shouldn't be made on how someone will look as a result of it.

You don't think after life doesn't improve because of a wall they will blame the Mexicans who are already there? Definitely a slippery slope.

Strong borders are fine but the problem is the president Is labelling them rapists and criminals

He didn't say ALL, and he was referring to those who entered the US illegally. Some of them are rapists and criminals. Most of the illegal invaders aren't criminals, but a large portion since 2008 came looking for US government handouts. You can't actually believe that the majority of illegals in the last eight years have been coming over for jobs in a jobless economy, can you?

Careful, now.  You are starting to talk like Martin Luther King, Jr.  Leftist heads might explode.

Why is it so interesting that I support our President and look forward to the wall going up?

Nope.  Why would somebody view me as such?  Just because I am Hispanic?
