Last year there were several guys I would have been happy with, so trading wasn't even on my radar.


This year, there's no one that stands out as "must have" where we're selecting.

Garrett, Allen, Adams, and Thomas (assuming he blows it up at the combine, which I think he will) are the only 4 players I would consider elite in this draft class and would be worthy of pick #4. If Hooker didnt have his surgery I would include him too. I think it is best for us to stay put and take one of these players unless we get an offer that is just too good to pass up, which I dont believe will happen.

With the Jets at 6 and in need of a QB, I'd love to see us trade with Buffalo (pick 10), who is also in need of a QB. Something along those lines

1. Brandon Allen was drafted last year.

2. Chad Henne was recently re-signed.

3. "Blake Bortles is our quarterback."

4. No QB prospects are top 10 quality.

5. We need to upgrade other positions.

There is no chance we can ever all agree on trading down from #4. This team is no longer in full rebuilding mode.
Also, two current players we traded up for are home runs picks: Allen Robinson and Myles Jack (both in the second round). If Justin Blackmon was not a drug addict, the same could be said about our trade up for him.

 

The Bills only need a QB if they don't restructure Tyrod Taylor's contract. I think Taylor has said he wants to stay in Buffalo. They drafted Cardale Jones last year and are refusing to give up on E.J. Manuel. Why do you mention a team that probably will not want to spend its first round pick on a QB?

No RB is worth a pick that high anymore. Trade down. In fact, we should trade down twice. This was Genes mistake, he didn't take the SF deal, and if he had he could have traded down again from their spot and we would have gotten a better haul. Seems like teams don't like to trade till the 10th pick or so, so move down to where the actions happening, and pick up another pick.

Many would say "no."

this point here... imagine if Ramsey had been on their D which was ultimately their downfall. Or maybe they take a pass rusher there instead, since they really needed those too.

 

Over the last decade or so we've seen RBs from every round be successful for a year or two here and there and behind Dallas' Oline DMac had his best season... and they had Alfred Morris.

My guess is that the duo could've hit 1400...

I also think Dak was obviously the better "value" and probably more valuable to the team.

 

However back on the other coin... I have no doubt Zeke will be very good for a long while.
