I am not rich and both of my kids go to private school. I am not asking for a "discount", but a tax deduction would be a good start. I make sacrafices in my life to give my kids the best education possible and it is a shame about the picture you have painted for yourself about private schools.

 

I would only favor a tax deduction if you were under a certain AGI.  If someone has a family income of $75k or less and sacrifices to put their kids through private school then I'm in favor of a tax break.  My issue is the potential of middle to high income getting a tax break while opting to pay $18k/year to place their kids in Bolles while they continue their family membership at the PV Inn and Club.

It's going to offer technical training and from what I understand some students will have to commit to a certain length of a job at Rayonier as well.  It's like and investment in their own back yard to educate and develope specialized talents to use in their Corporation.

I guess the median point would be $110k since the avg income in Jacksonville is $55k.  From there your tax benefit would increase incrementally by the $$ you are below the average or decrease incrementally pending on how much you are above the average income.
