I'l admit I didn't pay much attention to him until today when I read a report on WF saying teams think Charlton won't make it out the top 10, but I just watched two of his games against Penn State and FSU and he looks absolutely dominant. While he may not get the sack he is always whopping the tackle and affecting plays. He can rush on either side and can rush standing up. His initial burst is great for his size and so is his bend. He uses his hands well it looks to me. Speaking of his size, the guy measured in at 6'6'' 277lbs  with 34'' arms today. That is great size for a tradition 4-3 DE. I am looking forward to see what his athletic numbers look like on Sunday. If he turns out to be a force player then I want to take him at 4.

The Ohio State game was the game where I knew he'd be good. He was a freaking monster that game. I remember thinking after watching that game that if he ended up on the Jags I'd be very happy.

I just don't see a DB going at 4 overall, much less a safety, when it hasn't happened in over 20 years. Allen will probably be red flagged for his arthritic shoulders. And given the makeup of our team and what we will do in FA, the only realistic options at 4 is one of the RBs (less likely as I see it now) and Taco Charlton who will probably shoot up boards even more if he blows up the combine.

 

He's not good against the run

He can improve there, he has the size and length. I'm look at his ability to rush the passer and it's limitless. Have to see his combine numbers though.

I've asked this before, but why are you being so narrow with only 4. If you expand your sample a whopping one more pick you have a strong safety that is one a hall of fame trajectory pick a handful of years ago, and he just so happens to be the guy that Adams is compared to most often.

Because a trend is a trend. A DB hasn't broken past 5 in over 20 years. I don't see that changing for Jamaal Adams, who isn't Eric Berry as a prospect. If Ramsey, Berry, and Taylor couldn't break past 5 then I highly doubt Jamaal Adams will be the one to buck the trend.

 

Especially since we're more likely to sign a starting SS in free agency than draft one at 4.

Will be a bit cheaper as well.  Berry signed a 6 year 60 mil. dollar contract his rookie year.

It wouldn't shock me one bit if Chi. signs Glennon like that is rumored and they don't feel one of these QB's are worth the 3rd pick that the Bears draft him at 3 and we lose out on Adams.  Not to mention with the shoulder injury of Allen
