Running Back: What Round?
|
Quote:Would you take a tight end #1.Id take a TE at 4 if I felt one was worth it. As good as Howard is I dont feel he is worth that. Kellen Winslow, Jeremy Shockey, and Vernon Davis are the 3 TE I would of taken that early. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Yeah Howards good and all but I don't think he's THAT good. Quote:If Thomas is off the board (sadly we can give up on Adams) and we sign a big time CB in FA soon likely taking Lattimore out of contention too, I sure as hell would take a TE at 4. Hmmm that would be tough. I'd certainly rather a TE over a running back so i guess by default I'd have to take a TE or have a huge reach for another player.
Howard at 4? I like him, but I just don't see that happening. If Adams and Thomas happen to be gone, then just go Lattimore.
For that matter, I'd go Jonathan Allen, Hooker, Fournette, McCaffrey, Lamp and Watson before I go Howard.

Quote:You can count Adams out with the addition of ChurchIt's not going to happen, but with how versatile Adams is we could still take him. The Cardinals found a way to make Jefferson, Swearinger, and Mathieu work great as essentially 3 safeties by moving them around to slot corner and joker type roles.
1) Lattimore CB
2) Mixon RB 3) Siragusa G 4) Michael Roberts TE 5) Xavier Woods S Four day one starters in positions of need and a back up s. Poifect
I know Mixon got all the hype from today's Oklahoma Pro Day, but in related news, Samaje Perine improved him 40 time from a 4.66/40 to a 4.59/40. Much better.
Quote:1) Lattimore CB I'd be ok with this. There might be a better TE in round four, but if a run on TEs happens and they start going early, I can see them taking Roberts. His combine numbers don't pop out at you by comparison to some of these other TEs, but these other TEs are 250 lbs ... Roberts is 270 lbs ... and he looks to be a tremendous run blocker. I'm thinking he'd end up a lot like Kyle Brady who was a top 10 pick.

We aren't that far off. We lost 11 games last year by a touchdown or less, if we even won half of those we would have been 9-7.
Process of Elimination: It looks like we are set on SS and DE, at least to the extent that we don't HAVE to draft one in the first round since we got Church and Campbell. We got our LT in Albert so I don't think we will reach for Cam Robinson at 4. You don't draft guards at 4 either, so unless we trade back, I don't see that happening and we might even land one in FA. To me, that leaves 3 possible picks: Fournette, Lattimore, or a QB unless Allen falls to 4, then it might be too sweet to pass up. I'm not crazy about any of these QBs and I think we are committed to giving Bortles one more year. If we can also get our Guard situation figured out so the left side is Albert--Zeitler--Linder, taking Fournette and having a pound em running game would help take the pressure off Bortles and let our defense rest. We were 24th in 3 and out % last year, 21% of our drives were 3 and out--no bueno! If it is Lattimore---well, we have the best 2 corners since Revis and Cromartie and an inside pass rush that will force plenty of bad throws. You can't lose!
Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.
First off, I would never, ever ever post in a thread this dum. Just won't happen
Thirdly, I am of the belief that you need to view each draft class on it's own merit, otherwise you run the risk of having talent walk by you simply because "this is the way things are done." There is an overall best player in this draft. He may be a Guard, he may be a Linebacker, he may be a WR or most any other position. Now granted, depth at a position needs to be accounted for as well as League perception, but you need to get the most out of this draft as you possibly can and not be overly concerned with how things work in the past. If you look at the players in this class and you feel that the RB will turn out to be the best player from this class, wouldn't logic force you to take him?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! Quote:Dum question. The answer is clearly yes. If your draft position is an odd number. Otherwise you pick the quarterback that the Jets want and trade him for a king's ransom. Duh. Quote:Dum question. Hire this man!!! Back to the topic though, I get your point regarding Peterson and Minnesota's lack of Playoff appearances during his tenure there, but Reggie White only won one Super Bowl. Do you think Philadelphia regretted taking him? Or Green Bay thought they would have been better off keeping their Free Agent money? It's not Peterson's fault that Minnesota has failed at drafting QB after QB and can't find a WR to save their life.

If you think the next AP is there, you'd be stoopid not to draft him. Unless the next Reggie White is there. Or the next Aaron Rodgers. Or the next Jerry Rice. Or the next Tony Boselli. Or the next... Quote:I just say things like that to give pause to the "OMGIFWEDON'TDRAFTFOURNETTEAT4I'MJUMPINGOFFTHEACOSTABRIDGEWITHABABYSEAL" crowd. He really looks darn close to what Jeremy Hill looked like at LSU. That little video Goodberry made splicing highlights of Hill and Fournette together and asking to point out which one was Hill and which one was Fournette was crazy. |
