Jaguars expected to sign Calais Campbell

#21

If true this is a huge signing.  Calais fills a big hole and is a huge upgrade over last years strong side DE!

Can move him around just about anywhere on the DL.

Another plus. We can play him anywhere along that defensive front. He's just a good football player. Glad we have him.

Maybe Campbell is actually here to be our CB2? He has one more INT and 18 more passes defensed than Colvin and Cyprien have combined.

I bet Jackson goes off this year. I know he's happy about this.

They have added 2 solid starters with good character.  Give me a guard and a corner back, and I'll be very happy heading into the draft.

I like Johnson at CB2

I don't disagree but don't be fooled either, both of these players are taking positions where we had starters last year so I think the net gain is negligible so far.

I disagree. Campbell is a stud.

Far superior to Miller/Marks/Jones?

Campbell is a MONSTER. Dude is 6 foot 8 with the wingspan of a dragon.

No but I'm picking Campbell over those.

Looks like we beat out the Skins. This could be pretty expensive.

Lots of flexibility with this signing.  I like it.

Gives us size/physicality, experience.

On first down alone, he can set the edge at LDE as well as Odrick/Alualu while providing far better pass rush.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Quote:So check this out

DE Fowler (the knee should be 100 percent)
DE Yannick (should be able to get 10)
DT Jackson
DT Campbell

Our Dline is looking pretty sweet right now. Campbell is very disruptive.

We got Church on the backend with Ramsey. Smith will always do his thing and Jack will see the field. Feeling pretty good about this defense.

Still have the draft..
Campbell will be DE on base downs.

Yes. And he is taking Odrick's spot, not 3T, which Jackson holds down.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The LAST thing DFJ needs is another reason to use his head/learn how to play another position… I hope he can get it together and buck up especially as a 1st round draft pick. We can't have any more stupid penalties (roughing, offsides, neutral zone infractions, etc).
