So, with Campbell and Church expected to sign...

We are seriously talking about a top 10 pick team being so desperate they are willing to give up serious draft capital to trade up and jump another top 10 pick team to draft a friggin running back.
This is the worst draft thread ever. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:The thread, originally, was about choosing between players at seven different positions at #4 now that he team has "secured" a SS and a strong side DE. It's only the worst thread ever because the smartest person on the message board said so. Idk why you would try to argue with such crippling football intelligence. I think from now on the only person that should be able to post here is KYjaggy.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Seriously - the imminent FA signings don't have to eliminate safety and D-Line from consideration at #4 - but it has to make you look a little harder at the other options there.
I really can't say I feel good about the value of many of those options at #4 overall. I think they are all probably good NFL players in short order, but it will feel like a reach to me to take most of these options at #4. I have a sinking feeling that when we pick I'll be OK with it - but I'll have serious value questions about the particular position or player being chosen that high. Quote:If Tom is not sold on Fournette, do we trade down for a RB needy team? Maybe the Panthers want to get ahead of NYJ to snag a RB. I can't imagine a team trading up to get a RB in this draft. That's the tough part with a trade down. That is, why trade up? I would think Adams is your best trade bait, but is anyone really trading up for a S either? That said, if they want Adams they better because the Titans are now surely drafting him at #5 if the Bears don't draft him at #3.

I'm wondering if we go Adams anyways as the BAP, but if we're signing Church then do we really take a rotational safety at #4? It's the same thing with Thomas. If we take him, do we really need a 2nd backup DE after Fowler who we just took round one a couple years ago? I can maybe see him being the pick for value alone, but he'd be riding the bench a lot at least as a rookie. I'm eager to see what the Jaguars do today and how they address the CB situation. If we get Bouey, Prince or Gilmore, then Lattimore would appear off the table as well although they do say you really cannot have too many good CBs. On the flip side, if we don't get a day one CB in free agency, Lattimore suddenly really does look like the pick.

Taking a corner that high is uncomfortable to me and we just did it last year, but man, Lattimore seems like a sure thing. And of course the thought of he and Ramsey stifling opposing receivers is pretty enticing. Can't say I'd hate it.
Quote:Number of DBs that have went in the top 4 in the past 20 years: 0 Nickel packages have blossomed into the new base D league wide though with the league average for that being the package on the the field pushing 70% of the time. You need 3 good corners these days. My feeling is it's either going to be a DB or DL or trade back if a willing trade partner emerges. Unlike some, I wouldn't be overly upset with Fournette though.

i'm officially on the hooker train. Bouye-Hooker-Church-Ramsey.
With campbell jackson and ngakoue wreaking havoc. Telvin Jack and Poz at linebacker.... WOW. Trade Gipson for a fourth or fifth, package our 2nd and extra 4th to move up to get Lamp. Take a TE in the third. All we need is a QB. Please get better Blake. Please.
People won't let DB at 4 die huh

Too bad your evaluation =/= NFL consensus.

It would be completely in line with history for Dave to take the first player at a position in the draft only to have some of the very next ones of the board at the same position be monsters...
Could very well happen with Fournette and Mixon, McCaffrey, and maybe even Kamara.
idk. Fournette could be a monster. He will either be terrible or an All-Pro.

It's down to either Trubisky, Watson or Fournette in my opinion. Possibly Thomas.
I think it will end up being Fournette to take pressure off Bortles. We had a whopping-mind blowing (1) 100 yard rusher last year. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
A. Thomas DE- Campbell is turning 31 and Fowler hasn't even shown flashes. You can't go wrong with pass rusher here.
B. Hooker FS- It puts our boy Gipson on notice. Hooker gives us the best, young secondary in the league. C. Fournette RB- Let's be honest, Yeldon and Ivory have been underwhelming. That could be due to the o-line but I'd like to beg to differ. D. Adams SS- Church is stop gap let's face it. I don't like the idea of a SS @4 but Adam's certainly is in play here. E. Lattimore CB- With the addition of Bouye you can pretty much kiss Colvin goodbye. It may be a little too early for a nickel back here but you can't deny the talent.
Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.
