That's a possibility as well. The 49ers may take a chance on Trubisky but you also have teams now like Washington in a tough spot with Cousins and you also have the New York Jets who might want to come up. You never know.

To get a QB trade at 4 you have to have the first 3 teams (all of whom are QB desperate) believe QBs are bad and don't take them, then have teams behind the Jets think they are so good they have to jump the Jets. And then you have the problem that they could just trade to 5 with the Titans who have openly said they are willing to trade down and have actually done it, whereas Dave hasn't traded down a single time in his career.

Aka, ain't happening.

I think someone may trade up for one of the DL prospects. However, I also think we should just take a great DL prospect at 4.

Yep if there's a DL coveted enough that a team is willing to trade up, take him yourself.

1. Solomon Thomas, 2. OG, 3. RB or TE. I still think Solomon Thomas should be our pick. Campbell is 31 and not a traditional DE. 56 sacks in 9 years isn't exactly a premiere pass rusher. And yes, I'm aware this thread is entitled First Three Draft Picks Offense, but I don't think we should all believe we're definitely going offense in the first round.
BORTLES ISN'T A FRANCHISE QB. FOURNETTE WILL BE A BUST.

It's looking like defense will be BAP. Bringing in Murray sounds like they're not sure about cook and fournette

Butt

Book it.

-Fournette is my top offensive guy, although I kinda like McCaffrey even more and I'm convinced the first pick will be Jonathan Allen unless Solomon Thomas actually does drop.

-Totally if he does fall, but he's not falling. I'm looking for Dion Dawkins at the #2 spot.

-There should be some really good TEs in round three... maybe even Hodges or Everett... but don't pick Butt ... he'll likely spend his rookie season on IR. Also, if we don't get a RB in round one, I can see them taking Mixon or McNichols in round three should they fall there. There should still be some good blocking TEs who can catch in round four.

The only QB I'd really consider at #4 is Kizer.

Mahomes, though, gets very intriguing at #35 if he's there.

It could be. Even though he's young, Achilles injuries have ended many careers, especially among those dependent on their speed. It's possible you won't be able to rely on him in a game until 2019.
