He had the one legit bad TD drop week 1 against Green Bay.

 

The "dropped" TD against the Colts was low, behind him, and spinning sideways like a UFO. The "dropped" INT against the Broncos was another poorly placed ball where he had to fight through an elite corner in Harris Jr to attempt to catch it, and it popped up into the defenders hands very unluckily. Both were difficult plays that Arob could have made and sometimes will make, but neither were counted as drops.

Robinson's two bobbled INTs and small number of "drops" were a mere drop in the bucket when compared to Blake Bortles' struggles delivering an accurate pass last year.

Regardless of how the ball, or wounded duck, reached its destination - Robinson gets PAID to catch the ball.

 

Rule #1 for receivers - if it hits you in the hands, you catch the damn ball.

This team is much more than one player off. Yes Blake was a problem but it was far deeper than blake.


-The oline could not run block with Olsen. Scheme or otherwise the numbers jumped tremendously under Olsen.

-Hurns fell off the map. He was stinking before the injury.

-There was no talent at tight end. Thomas hurt as usual and just third stringers at backup

-We have 2 backs on the roster than like to fumble the ball

-The defense just turned into a wet paper bag many times during the season.

We acquired some nice pieces out of FA, to help booster a good defense..Now it's on too the draft! Actually it was 3 the Broncos game, the Oakland game, and the Bears game were the three moment allen robinson dropped a pass which is in a interception. I agree Blake has regressed but the blame need to be shared among a lot of them on offense.

I forgot about the raiders game.  

 

Though it was much more a perfectly timed (split second early) tackle/break-up by Sean Smith than anything resembling a drop.

How close is this team from really being a championship team?

Is it as simple as replacing the QB?

Drafting a playmaker Rb?

Drafting a explosive DE?

Or is it just all of the above? Personally I believe if we can replace the QB, with someone who can manage the game, limit turnovers,and lead us to wins. That will make the jaguars a championship caliber team..Easier said then done, I know..

Or maybe it's coaching? Maybe we just need a competent staff to motivate and help players excel to they fullest abilities..

Either way,I know this team is real close.. And my excitement is gradually rising... (no homo) Can't wait to the draft!

If the draft falls the way I hope and we trade our # 4 to Cleveland for #12, # 33 & #108 --- then we are only one QB away from a being a big factor in the playoffs. Ideally Bortles plays like 2015 but with less passing attempts but below average personal turnovers.

I hope and expect them to draft a guard in the second or third, but it doesn't necessarily "fix" the line.  It's a good start though. 

 

I'd also like to see a plan B quarterback selected in the third or fourth round.  (Webb or Peterman) 

 

I would feel like they are a lot closer to having the right talent in place to at least win a playoff game.  Still lots of question marks in terms of trusting some young players to perform and a new coaching staff - but I'd feel pretty good about at least challenging to win the division if it went down like that.
