It was our choice to remove certain leaders, then abruptly leave without having a long term plan on assistance with the aftermath.

2.  I'm not so sure everyone truly realizes what the problem is as you suggest.  Many continue to be in denial and believe the problem is "us."  Yes, we are guilty of mistakes in attempting to assist but we did not create the problem.

I don't have a solution, nor does anyone else unfortunately.  I do know that relying on the so called "peaceful" muslims to do something has been (and most likely will continue to be) a complete waste of time.   I know one thing we should do is extreme vetting, but the left seems completely opposed to that.

In my opinion, it's the radicals within our own country that are the biggest problem.  I say if you are on a "watch list", you should be taken in for interrogation...if you haven't or aren't planning to do something wrong, you should have nothing to worry about.  But if you have or are planning terrorist plots...well then, you are going to have problems.
