3rd overall pick

(This post was last modified: 01-01-2014, 09:59 PM by Solid Snake.)

The Texans are hiring Billy O'Brien, and right after it was announced he would be the Coach, Bridgewater declared for the NFL draft. Coincidence? No, Teddy is going number one. He is going to a good organization and honestly I think he will have a chance to really succeed. He has a team with a decent o line, tightends, Arian Foster, decent WR core, and Johnson who is aging but still good. He won't have nearly the pressure on him as he would in Jacksonville.

I know fans here are scared of drafting QBs so go ahead and make the bet, but you're going to lose, Teddy is going to be the first pick.

Umm.... yes. You really think the two sides have communicated already?

Quote:-Cyprien doesn't have a football name, he will suck.

-Sanders is too small, he will be injury prone

-Jaguars should have taken Matt Barkley

Actually I said that his name sounded like/ reminded me of a Sabby Piscatelli.

As for actual play i said he reminded me of a Darius clone. Ooops, thats exactly what he's evolving into.

Sanders has missed time in minicamp, camp, and reg season to injury. Check.

Lobbied for the Jags to take Barkley in the FOURTH rd. Big whoop.

Keep pushing that agenda.

Yeah, give a week post draft to vent, and then I'll pay my bet debt (if I even lose)

As for suggestions for you, I'll get back to ya.

Teddy is going 1st and they have a really good young coach...

Things aren't looking good for us for the next decade between Houston & Indy both being set up for the next 10 years.

You make about 50% of the ridiculous, criticism-worthy posts on this forum, so about 50% of my replies are to you.

Now that TMD is done creeping everyone out, I think Blake Bortles wont be the choice at 3, and see him somewhere in the pick 10 range.

Are you talking about physical pressure like the line not being able to protect him or pressure by the fans and city? If you mean the latter I disagree. If Teddy goes 1st overall to the Texans that fan-base would be expecting a Superbowl within a few seasons. I'm sure Houston fans think this year was a fluke and with a better HC and QB should be right back in the playoffs next season and winning the whole thing not soon after. That is a lot of pressure to me.

Now Bridgewater going to a team like Jacksonville, which lacks talent, I think there would be more patience by our fan-base because we know how bad this team is and that it is going to take a couple seasons to get where we want to be.

I don't even think Bortles will declare. If he does, he's not going top 10.

Bortles...geesh this guy is not an elite QB. I'll take Johnny Jaguar for 2000.

For the name thing... I dont know, thats just dumb. I would not look to you for football insight based on that fact alone.

Do you realize who says that Cyprien is a Darius clone? You. Just you. No one else has said that. He hits hard, he must be a Donovon Darius clone. Great analysis. Cyprien has way more athleticism, and his faults in pass coverage mostly come from mental errors, which is QUITE common with rookie DBs. If he continues to improve, he could very well be a Bob Sanders type of saftey.

Predicting someone will get banged up in the NFL is hardly going out on a limb. Will Rackley is a giant and he gets hurt every other game.

Here's another way of looking at our dreaded 3rd overall pick: Let's pretend that Bridgewater and Clowney go #1 and #2, let's also pretend, just pretend, they both end up being busts. TMD you've mentioned some weaknesses of Bridgewater's, such as his size, so this isn't far-fetched.  Winning those games would then have helped dodge those busts.  Let's also pretend the 3rd overall pick turns out to be better than the 1st and 2nd.  Yes, there's a trend with this team, but that was with a different owner, different coaches, different management, etc.  This owner got rid of a garbage coach after one season, the previous owner did not, obviously I'm referring to this franchise's 2nd coach, not its 1st.

I think the new standard response when you post something ridiculous should be a laughing gif.

Ace missed 1 game...  1 game because of a concussion.  Concussions happen to big and little players!  1 game missed for a small player who, if he was injury prone would have ankle tweeks, knee issues, back issues or whatever...

1 game...  And he's injury prone...  Check...   LOL

The more I think about it the more i agree. We need playmakers and there might not be a better one out there than Manziel. Teddy is going #1 followed by St.Louis trading the #2 pick so someone can grab Clowney.

I don't want Matthews and Bortles might be ok but after watching Manziel the other night make play after play, the more I liked. Who cares if he is arrogant and cocky. Dude is like 20 yrs old. All great QB's (outside of Manning) have some cocky swagger to them.

You lobbied for the Jaguars to take Barkley instead of Sanders. Sanders is more productive.

You giving yourself a "check" for saying Ace Sanders is injury prone is exactly why people expose you.

Teddy was always going 1st overall.....that hasn't changed now just because of O Brien.

Anthony Barr for the 3rd pick and Jimmy garoppolo for a later round QB
