Jalen Ramsey Openly Campaigning for Dalvin Cook @4

#1

Jalen on Twitter today at Florida State pro day and is openly saying the Jaguars had better take Dalvin at 4. Thoughts?

Jalen needs to worry about playing corner and not playing GM.  If Cook comes here and sucks, its not Jalen's head on the platter.

I like Jalen campaigning for a college teammate; it shows loyalty, friendship, and other good characteristics.

Delvin wearing number 4 interesting. Not that i want him at 4 but a trade down to 10 take O.J TE and then trade back up to say pick 15-20 then take Cook.

It's not happening at 4.  Maybe round 2.

Maguire single-handedly beat Clemson back in 2015.

lol .... just kidding .... Maguire sucks !!  I don't think Jalen is that loyal.

I think Cook is a prime candidate to start falling through the draft. His 40 time didn't seem to match his play speed but for his size, I think most of us expected better.

There's a lot of talk about concern over his character issues. I don't think there is a wealth of teams looking for running back in round 1 and if they are not real comfortable with his baggage, he could fall to round 2. Not saying it is going to happen but we've seen this sort of thing before.

I wouldn't mind Cook at 12 from a Cleveland trade.

Cook, Howard, or one of the top safeties should be available then.

Yea, I might even add Cam Robinson to this list. He could immediately start at guard and be valuable depth at tackle in case one of the starters get hurt.

I trust in Ramsey.  I value his opinion.  And think he is very smart.  And based on him and Smith.  So far,  Both have been exceptional players. So I have no problem with Cook at 4.  The off the field issues.  According to fisher and others.  All Cook was doing was defusing the situation. That is not a character concern.

Ramsey also said Cook has strong toughness and leadership skills.  Plus add in fact he can go deep a play or two and catch the ball.  He can find holes when isn't one.  He can bounce off defenders like a ping pong ball.  He has broken FSU running back records.

Cook is a duel threat rb.  Which we have not had a very good catching back.  That also could hit holes. Cook has great vision and lit up Michigan.  If you look at the last game vs the majority of last year.  With our O line. Grant was successful where the bigger backs were not.  So shows Cook could be successful with our current line.

Jalen said, "Cook rushed for over 200 yards and two tds with both a Hammy injury and shoulder one."  That is a guy who can help Blake and is in Coughlin mold. Cook is very team first.  And is off a successful program.  That two of our biggest defensive stars excel at. So why not take the chance.

Richardson was also a bigger guy and ended up a first round bust.  Toby was a bust as a Free Agent.  I have an issue with taking a guy at 4 that is bigger with nothing else. Out of the the Three regardless of reasons why.  Cook not only played his bowl game , but excelled at it.  Cook did not miss the combine nor his pro day.  And didn't sit out anything.

Ramsey would know more than any of us. And he did not have to be there.  But he believes in Cook.  So maybe we should too. Besides Cook lit up many teams.    And did really well against top teams. And can be lined up in any formation from Shotgun to under center and excel as a running back.

Not at 4.

Wouldn't mind him if we traded back into the 2nd half of the first round. His explosive ability and vision is special. He does have some red flags though and should/will not be drafted ahead of Fournette.

And of course Ramsey is going to be supportive of his teammate but Ramsey's a rookie going into his 2nd year. His scouting ability means nothing.

Trading back and getting a talent like Cook would be ideal. Use the extra picks to build up the offensive line and we may be on to something.

Move down a few if we can and take him in the 10-15 range.

I think his range is gonna be closer to 20-30.

But unless he slides to round 2, only way we are getting cook is part of a trade down.

I like him better than Fournette, but I don't want either at 4.
