Clowney or Maziel

Quote:Put it this way I agree you either take Clowney or trade the pick. You DON'T pass on Clowney and do something like take Barr at 3.
Just a few days ago you said that Clowney would be a sure thing at #2.

Quote:Did Alshon Jeffery ever publicly admit he was a slacker in practice? If not, people were crazy to think he was not giving 100 percent effort every day.
Being a slacker in practice is alot different then being a Slacker in general just because someone doesn't give it his all in practice doesn't mean they wont play with heart out on the field losing sucks.

Yep, then came Manziel going nuclear last night. Things change.

Quote:I would have to take Clowney at three if he was there the man is good, even if he is only playing for money he will want more than what that rookie contract is going to give and to get that money you have to play good.

Sorry, it does not work that way. A player who is only in it for money has no interest in being part of a team. They whine about not starting, criticize coaches and teammates, and do not go to voluntary OTAs. Not all of them are like that, obviously, but there is a greater risk of seeing such behavior in a player who does not care about teammates and coaches liking him as long as he geta paycheck. I  would expect to lose Clowney to free agency in four years because he will just be playing for dollars.

In Clowney's case, it does translate to slacking off in games. He reportedly has been taking some plays off. And at Kentucky, he took a whole game off after warming up.

He has had some injuries and his handlers have been whispering in his ear. Don't hurt yourself. I think once he's on a team, he'll look to make his mark. Don't think he liked playing college football. He is frustrated by all the double and triple teams. Teams always running away from him. Once a pro....he won't have to deal with that as much. He is more suited for the pros.

Quote:Good Lord....the Rams are not taking Matthews at 2. Why are so many people suggesting this inane possiblility?
I stand by what I've been saying. The Rams would be stupid to trade out of the #2 pick and let Matthews slide.

We like to talk about how the Rams can trade down and still get their guy, but there are a lot of teams out there that need help at LT, primarily the Dolphins, who've shown they're not afraid to trade up to get the guy they want.

I'll be shocked if the Rams trade out of #2, even with what they've said so far. The #2 pick in this draft that's loaded with talent is worth far more than what the Rams will get in return in the first round of next year's draft, and even later parts of this year's draft.

Very rarely do things play out the way they did with the Rams and Skins.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Definitely Clowney.

Are you sure its slacking and not just being tired after having to chase from the other side of the field every play after having to fight through 2 to 3 blockers a play. Don't believe media hype trains they are just trying to generate views.

Clowney is a bust.  Dropped off from last season. Did not dominate on the field.  Off the field cannot drive within the speed limit.

The media would not paint the picture of a slacker if he was just tired and hurt. They are former players and coaches, so they can see the difference.

Who do you have going #1 and #2? Then after that, what would you hope the Jaguars do?

I'd take Clowney. Not a fan of Manziel translating well to the pros.

Hey guess what? We're getting either Clowney, Manziel or Bridgewater. I'm happy with any of those. Not our choice. I predict it will be Manziel at this time. I may change my prediction after free agency and/or the combine.
