Quote:Please get him. I gurantee playoffs if hes our QB. Romo typically only got to the playoffs with a strong run game and a defense able to force turnovers. He's not really a franchise QB hes just a name you recognize. He can probably get us go 7-9 or 8-8 which was for the most part what he did with the Cowboys. Sure you can question his health right now but he was a top notch QB throughout most of his career.
Quote:Such revisionist history. Romo was/is a franchise QB all day. When Romo is healthy, he is a very good franchise QB. The problem is that at this point in his career, his body just can't handle the beatings. There's nothing he can really do about it. He's just made that way. Some QB's like Tom Brady and Brett Favre are seemingly made of titanium and they never get hurt, having long productive careers and others like Romo seem to hit a point where age catches up to them and when they are barely touched, they have to go on I.R. I've never been an advocate for trading a draft pick for Romo, but if he is released, I see no harm in trying to sign him. He'd be an upgrade from Bortles and if he does get hurt, we do have Bortles to fall back on. No harm, no foul. I just don't wanna lose a draft pick to get him, because his health is just too much of a ? Quote:When Romo is healthy, he is a very good franchise QB. Fair enough he's fragile these days but let's not rewrite history and pretend like he wasn't a real good QB We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Uhhh....... draft picks?????? I don't want to trade away draft picks for a fragile QB who might only last 1 game in a season. You could say that about any player in the world. Every player in sports is 1 play away from injury.
He put up great stats. But on a team with consistent high levels of talent around him (hall of fame WR, TE and pro bowl WR in Dez) dude only had double digit wins in a season 3 times. But 9 or less 6 times. That's not revisionist.

Quote:You could say that about any player in the world. Every player in sports is 1 play away from injury. So the fact that he's 37, has had two back surgeries, and has played a couple of quarters in the last two years doesn't put a larger percentage on that? Really? ![]() Quote:He put up great stats. That's not revisionist. No its revisionist to say he wasn't a franchise QB...when he was. Let's not forget he played in the same division as the Andy Reid Eagles and the Tom Coughlin Giants..two powerhouse teams during that period of time. He was a franchise QB who despite some bad Cowboy defenses (they averaged 20 ppg against with him as a QB) still had them competing every year in that awfully hard division.

Did you read the link? ![]()
Quote:Yes, but you have to take a players age and history into consideration. Tavian Banks' age had nothing to do with his injury. I'm not trying to argue bc I understand what you're saying but really any player in any sport is 1 play away. Not just Romo. I'll imagine if he gets injured it will be wasted money and a lot of "I told you so" But imagine if he doesn't get injured, we would instantly win the division, have a home game. And we would have a punchers chance to win the Super Bowl. The risk is worth it. I mean, we won 3 games last year. Why would we turn our nose up to a chance to win it all?

Quote:Not if he doesn't get injured. So you're saying the percentages of him getting injured are lower if he doesn't get injured. Brilliant. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users.
