Quote:Contrary to sentiment of some, Poz was not a liability in coverage at MLB, so I don't expect him to be one at SLB, either.

If you look at his stats, he's got his share of passes defended and INTs, and holds up well vs other 4-3 MLBs.

SLB has been pretty void here since Daryl Smith with the exception of a hand full of plays Clint Session didn't have a concussion.

gona have to disagree... stats are one thing, but he was constantly beat to spots in zone coverage, he is not fast enough to keep up in the pass game.. he has the mental aspect, but not the physical aspect anymore

this is a great change all around

Agree......I can see him lined up against OJ Howard in the SAM.......he'll be chasing from 5 yards behind.

Has Poz officially entered Meester territory yet? I.e. solid starter that is staying here beyond his optimal time.

Miles Jack has a ways to go to post such #s as Poz did in the middle but Poz was targeted within the middle as well. His run stopping abilities will be missed but Jack's pass defense will be welcomed...

Can someone please explain to me why Poz will be covering TEs? I thought Jack was so good at covering that he was going to cover opposing team's TEs. Why don't they just keep Poz at MLB and take him out in nickel situations?

Who says he is covering the TE? When a team is in a 4-3 formation that's when a SAM LB is on the field. To mainly to defend the run, which is what Poz is best at. In zone coverage he'd be mainly out defending the flats. Down the seam that's when either a linebacker of safety need to peel off coverage and defend the route. But most of the time you'll be in nickel to counter that. We just got faster to defend any attack. You really can't complain about this.

Quote:Gus says bad move.

Jack even said last week that part of his preperation thos year has to be making sure he knows where he's supposed to be/ knowing the plays, knowing what he's supposed to be doing out there. Maybe he just wasn't ready last year.
Now lemme think...  :geek:  What should my avatar....

He's been in Meester territory since he arrived (unappreciated and knuckleheads calling for him to be cut annually.)

Isn't the tight end lined up on the right side in front of the SAM in the 4-3?
