A-Rob says he has "earned" a contract extension

#21

Sure, if he wants a mediocre contract give it to him. If he wants to get paid like a top WR play like one first!

This guy is starting to act like a clown.

I'm a bit surprised he's asking for it now.

Surely he would get a better deal if he plays really well this year and then negotiates next year? Why rush to get a long-term deal done after a below-par season?

He most likely feels his down year wasn't his fault.

His attitude can be irritating but he's a damn good player and a #1 receiver.

The issue is whether it's as lucrative as he hopes.

But given what he has/hasn't worked with, yes he deserves to stay here if he wants.  The fact he is angling for a contract extension is a good sign, considering there is some thought amongst the fans that he may not be happy here.

Maybe now we'll be less inclined to trade him to the Patriots. [/sarcasm]
Spot on.

I would question that.  Since more teams have more tape on AR15.  How effective has he become?

ARob is kind of following the classic Diva receiver route. Well except the part about consistently putting up big numbers. I mean, I want us to sign him, because if we don't, he is almost certain to go to a team like NE on a one year prove it deal and look awesome. But at the same time, I do feel that last season may become the norm once he gets his big contract.

Guess this account is the one now? Rip HR86 2010-2017.

Robinson is a wannabe Kaepernick with a bad attitude. I say good riddance if he thinks he deserves top dollar based on his mediocre career so far.

You know who deserves a contract extension? Telvin Smith.

Quote:He should receive a deal similar to Hurns. No more, no less IMO.

This is what I'm thinking. It's the right thing to extend A-Rob this offseason, and his sub-par season this past year only makes it easier to do.

His attitude is irritating, not just 'can be'. I think that from a practical point of view it would serve 'A-Rob' well to have a good season (not blaming drops on the quarterback) before talking about a contract incentive. He needs to prove that he a consistent good player not just one who occasionally hits a home run.

A-Rob excelled at the 50/50 jump ball and that is pretty much it. He had so many 50/50 jump ball receptions because they didn't have much option other then that because he does not consistently gain a lick of separation. He regressed last year and made comments about how the fans suck. Not the optimum time to mention contract IMO.

For over a decade, we couldn't find a decent Wr. Now, we want to let one walk.

I don't get it...

For real. This x1000. Even his bad year last year was better than we've had on like 10 years at WR.

We can probably sign him cheaper than his 2014 campaign demanded and people want to let him go lol I swear man this board....

When do we trade him to the Pats?
