I have no trouble sharing the road with cyclists and have had no problem with them. However I've seen them hogging a lane and holding up traffic just for the pure arrogance of it. Would it kill them to go single file and allow traffic to pass? OTOH, I've encountered a few car driving idiots when pedaling myself. It goes both ways.

It does go both ways. Idiots are everywhere. (I think there is one behind my keyboard, not sure) I drive like a grandpa. I've had my fair share of tickets and such, so now I drive very carefully. When I'm driving around being careful and I have issues with these cyclists, I for one feel it's more the cyclists than me. Regardless of who the idiot is, it's just not safe. If I'm driving and pass a cyclists, I usually I get in the other lane to do so. That is not always possible. If, as I pass, the cyclist hits a rock or whatever and swerves into my path and I kill him, then i stand a great chance of going to prison. He's dead, I'm in prison, lose-lose. Just because the guy wants to ride his bike in traffic. His fault? My fault? It's an accident. Not really any ones fault except the law's for allowing it to happen. Yet, two lives would be ruined. I'll never be convinced it's a good idea. Too many people are dying over it. If you are a cyclists just be careful and be safe about it. I Like reading your posts.

I will say that  a lot of drivers shouldn't even be out on the road that early. The ones that are so hung-over that they're still legally drunk. I drive less than a mile to work and the few mornings I have to go in before the sun rises are the worst mornings.

I've waved pedestrians through at crosswalks and half of the time they just wouldn't go. I guess they've had bad experiences with idiot drivers, just as you were saying...

People that use G-rated phrases to replace R-rated bad words. For example "Fiddlesticks!", "Jeez Louise!" & "Freck!". Just say the bad word! You'll feel 10x better! Sometimes when you drop a heavy object on your toe that lands you in the ER it warrants a legitimate cry out of R-rated agony.

When I'm waiting to pull out onto a street and there's a car coming, and they refuse to signal that they plan on turning and I end up sitting there waiting for no reason.

When I'm told at a store or a restaurant or any service industry type of place, "Have a good one." That just irritates the hell out of me. How is that any easier than just saying, "Have a good day." or "Have a good evening."

My pet peeve is when TV reporters use the word "now" as a sentence starter. 

 

Next time you watch the local news, notice the number of times an on-the-scene reporter starts his or her sentence with that word.
