Quote:All of the Jags receivers have bailed Bortles out of poorly thrown passes repeatedly the past three seasons. Yes, A-Rob is the most gifted at high-pointing the 50/50, but they've all bailed him out of inaccurate passes MANY times. Just pointing that out -- as I think some are too hard on those guys for drops while not recognizing how often they have to reel in bad passes. Definitely. I think any of our top 3 could have been superstars last year on a team with a top tier quarterback. Can you imagine what Arob could have done on the Patriots, or even the Chargers? Bortles doesn't hit receivers in stride all that well. It's either an errant incompletion, or a spectacular catch made by whoever hauls it in. We show less advertisements to registered users. Man, some of y'all need to stop being childish and accept the fact that wide receivers are professional and their job is to catch the ball even if it's not perfect. The hate that some of yall a have for Blake is ridiculous and I wish Blake had a top-tier receiver where passes is not bounced off their hands and lead to interceptions. Aka A-Rob or in some cases have blatant drops Allen hurns. I'm tired of everyone ganging up on one man because they not mature enough to analyze the situation as a whole. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I see that Pinkard is not on the list as an eligible first year player although I'd love to know why he wasn't eligible.
Most of these guys are going to find a tough time finding a spot on the Jaguars roster, but the TE and OL positions might have room for a player. With that in mind, I thought I'd take a second to focus on those two position groups. The practice OLs are...

TE Ashton Broyld is a guy Marrone once coached. He was dismissed from Syracuse for violating a school rule or something, but he was there in 2012 when Marrone was HC. Back then he was one of those slash players playing HB, WR, KR and more. At 6-4, 220 lbs he's roughly the same size as Arrelious Benn, as in a tad heavy for a WR but a bit light to be playing TE. That said, similar to their undrafted TE Caleb Bluiett, he brings more to table than just being a TE.
TE Charlie Dowdle is still "filling in his frame" although he's been polishing his craft as a TE... including blocking... for quite some time now and might just catch someone's eye. Don't rule him out as a guy possibly signed to the PS after the minicamp. Charlie is 6' 3 1/2", 230 lbs but can put on some weight. The Division III prospect ran a 4.9 at his pro day. TE Sean Irwin as a top 40 TE coming out of HS could have gone to LSU but chose Colorado in order to stick with his brother. He says he wouldn't have had it any other way even though it means trying to make the NFL as a practice player vs being drafted outright. Irwin is a rather complete TE at 6-3, 246 lb while running a 5.0 flat at his pro day. TE Nehemiah Winston ran a sub-4.8 and did 26 reps at his pro day at 6' 3 5/8", 254 lbs, and he actually has a highlight reel...
https://youtu.be/vAdIDl0zeKc
He's easy to spot in these clips. He's that one guy that's bigger than everyone else. Decent as a receiver, but what stands out is his proficiency as a blocker. He's surprisingly nimble for a wide body guy like Marquez Williams.

The hate that some of yall a It's not Blake-bashing. You are the only person viewing it that way. Blake's accuracy last year was bad. It was really, really bad. That's a fact. It isn't up for discussion. It isn't me bashing the guy. I like him and I'm rooting for him. He just struggled a lot more than his receivers did last year. By a very wide margin. You really should come to terms with the fact that it's perfectly fine to root for the guy but still recognize his shortcomings. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. I find myself really liking Winston as an in-line guy.
At any rate, on to the OLs...

Quote:I'm sorry dude. This necessity to defend Bortles from any negative comment is really [BAD WORD REMOVED] weird. Really, really weird. You know what I can say the same thing about you and your negativity towards him is very very weird as if football is your life not just entertainment. The way you and others you negative things about him on a daily basis is as if he did something to your life personally instead of remembering that it's just a game. So maybe you need to calm down and sit in front of a therapist instead of judging me. ![]()

Bortles is at the rookie minicamp? That's really, really weird.
Let's keep it on topic fellas, there will be plenty of time to dissect Blake's game/life. Also thanks 02 for your research, I dunno if anything will come of these guys, but it's cool to at least have a bit of context to attach to otherwise random names.
I would believe Allen would be the qb. Some one has to throw them the ball. We didn't bring in a qb.
