The Jags need to improve just one thing to improve the win total

He's also among the league leaders in TDs.

Blake needs to cut out the glaring mental mistakes and his arm needs to stay healthy, but provided he learns how to throw a fade pass, he's got the talent to get the job done.

...and to think they claim I bash Blake.

I think they'll be running a lot more in the red zone this year. That should mitigate Blake's poor touch and placement on the fade.

There are plenty of ways to score with this offensive roster w/o forcing Blake to throw that pass very often.  Of course it would be nice if he could drop one in the bucket very now and then.

You might as well hit that list for us for TDs in last 3 years

  4. Phillip Rivers - 93

  5. Eli Manning - 91

  6. Andrew Luck - 86

  7. Matt Ryan - 85

  9. Derek Carr - 81

  10. Matthew Stafford - 80

  11. Cam Newton - 72

  12. Carson Palmer - 72

  13. Russell Wilson - 71

We have to remember that a majority of Blake's TD's were against 2nd or 3rd string defenses in the 2nd half, when teams knew they were going to win and were loosening up. How many TD's did he get in 1st Quarters or 1st Half?

2016:

Blake is 26th is TD's in the first Half.

He is 6th in TD's in the 4th Quarter.

I think these stats are telling.

What if you factor in TD runs. He's got a few of those.

I'll bite. 2016, Blake had 27 TDs (23 passing, 3 rushing, 1 receiving). So, you're saying that at least 14 of them were in the second half with the game out of reach.

So, first we discount the ones in the first half. We're down to 17 (15 passing, 1 rushing, 1 receiving).

Next we discount those where the Jaguars were leading or tied after the TD (assuming the extra point was made - we can't blame Blake for missed extra points, as much as some people would like to...). That brings us down to 10 (9 passing and 1 rushing).

So you're already wrong. But then we'll look at those ten plays and see in which of them the game was out of reach to the point that we can really call them garbage time. That's a bit subjective, but let's have a look... The scores are the scores after the TD, but before the extra point.

2016-12-04 Jaguars Broncos 4 14:10 4 5 DEN 22 9-17 Blake Bortles middle for 22 yards, touchdown 22 2.04 7 4.96 0 0

Not crazy out of reach, but reason to believe the game wouldn't be won at this point.

2016-09-18 Jaguars Chargers 4 1:12 2 10 SDG 15 13-38 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Corey Grant for 15 yards, touchdown 15 3.95 7 3.05 0 0

Garbage time.

2016-11-13 Jaguars Texans 4 2:25 2 10 HTX 14 19-24 Blake Bortles pass complete short left to Allen Robinson for 14 yards, touchdown 14 4 7 3.00 0 0

Within a score, but not much time left. A two point conversion would leave it at a field goal to tie. But the clock's short. Let's call it garbage time.

2016-11-06 Jaguars Chiefs 4 4:15 2 10 KAN 13 13-19 Blake Bortles pass complete short right to T.J. Yeldon for 13 yards, touchdown 13 4.05 7 2.95 0 0

Again, a winnable game, but not much time on the clock. KC aren't exactly guaranteed to score back at this point, but let's be brutal.

2016-09-25 Jaguars Ravens 3 5:09 1 10 RAV 11 13-16 Blake Bortles pass complete short right to Allen Robinson for 11 yards, touchdown 11 4.84 7 2.16 0 0

Narrowing the deficit to two points with large chunks of the third quarter to go? No way this counts. Scratch it from your list.

2016-10-27 Jaguars Titans 3 11:10 1 10 OTI 10 6-27 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Julius Thomas for 10 yards, touchdown 10 4.91 7 2.09 0 0

Most of the third quarter still remaining, but they're 27-0 down. I wouldn't be bringing in third stringers at this point, but again, let's err on the side of caution.

2016-10-23 Jaguars Raiders 4 4:17 2 9 RAI 9 15-26 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Julius Thomas for 9 yards, touchdown. Penalty on Shilique Calhoun: Defensive Offside (Declined) 9 4.38 7 2.62 0 0
2016-10-27 Jaguars Titans 4 0:05 1 7 OTI 7 21-36 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Bryan Walters for 7 yards, touchdown 7 5.6 7 1.40 0 0
2016-10-27 Jaguars Titans 4 3:16 3 5 OTI 5 14-36 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Allen Hurns for 5 yards, touchdown 5 4.26 7 2.74 0 0
2016-09-18 Jaguars Chargers 4 12:59 2 4 SDG 4 6-35 Blake Bortles pass complete short middle to Marcedes Lewis for 4 yards, touchdown

Not going to argue any of these.

So that's down to 9 TDs in what you might call 'garbage time'. You needed 14. I wouldn't personally count anything in the third quarter, either, as I don't believe any professional team is going to just throw in the backups that early in a game, but it's best to be fair in these cases.

Also, it's worth pointing out that three of those are in the same game, in which the team built up a 27-point deficit and Blake proceeded to score 3 touchdowns to narrow the gap somewhat. For a season with so many losses, there were surprisingly few TDs in real garbage time.

My man people like him don't even know what garbage time means? People like him learned about football watching sports center instead of knowing the nuances of the game.

Thanks for doing all this research. So basically a third of his TDs this past season were garbage time TDs. I recall doing a similar study of his 2015 season and concluded that only a few of his many TDs were actually in garbage time as that was a rather competitive season throughout. Over both years he's combined he's only thrown maybe a dozen garbage time TDs.

Those 35 TDs in 2015 must have flown on their own and scored themselves.
