The problem I have with Bortles is that true franchise QB's can do more with less. We've thrown together one of the most stacked rosters for this man and he still hasn't given us winning results. Its scary to think you have a QB who claims he isn't a natural thrower of the football and just missing one offseason practicing mechanics turned him into the puddle of nothing we saw in 2016.

Also, I was never talking greater QB overall where you're looking at Eli in his prime. I'm talking about the QB that Eli has become over the past few years compared to the QB play we saw out of Blake in 2015. The potential at least is there for Blake to flat out be better than Eli this season.


 

But no, I'm certainly not among those who claim Eli Manning is better than Dan Marino just because Dan doesn't have rings.

2016 says hello. How many wins did he get us in 2015? Oh that's right 5. His play lost us games sure some of it was on the defense but he hasn't improved in the way Eli did.

The Chargers lost Woodhead, Verrett, Keenan Allen, Te'o and whoever else due to injuries. All starters. Not a good comparison. Their roster was dropping like flies this past season. Their problem wasn't Rivers but injuries. Where Bortles and his mechanics were causing defenders to just sit on routes waiting for that wind up, inaccuracy or just missing open guys. I think Bortles can improve but to the extent that he'll ever be a franchise QB? I'm not sold just yet.

How can anyone call Bortles anything but a journeyman when he has not won more then 5 games a season. He has what 12 wins and 36 loses. And comparing him to others who won more in one season then blake has.

And here I was thinking it was a team sport. Thanks for setting me straight and letting us all know that our 12 and 36 record since Bortles took over is only on him even though before he got here our record was similar, but I'm sure that was his fault too some how.

Here is the problem though. Khan is a car parts guy not a football guy.  So was sold on potential and here was to blame and there was to blame.  At the end of the day. Tom is doing what any new boss would do.  Prove it to me or it is all talk.   So tom is getting the best possible team around him to prove it is Blakes fault or isn't.  Business 101

 

And also in a business sense. Tells Khan who is trustworthy and who is trying to give him sales pitches.  See Tom is not apart of Hurns or Robinson or Lee.  And is bringing in competition to put the best receivers together for Blake to succeed.  Or to sink.

 

So no more excuses.  And reason Cruz is coming in and West Brook was drafted.

 

And while it is a team sport.  Blake is the Queen piece or most powerful.  So if Blake fails so do the jags.

If you don't win you don't play well.  Think of chess. No matter the moves or pieces left.  At the end of the game ya win lose or stale mate(tie)   He lost more. So equals not good.

In chess the Queen cant do it alone, the last 3 years have been like starting a game of chess with half our pieces already gone and the person making the moves for us thinks he's playing checkers (gotta love Gus) while the other side still has all of there pieces and a world class chess player..

Lets base on last two games and say Blake is 1-1 but on the loss. We rushed over 100 yards.   So we can agree with gus gone they are 1-1 right?  Okay so stats say Blake with a ground game of150 plus yards has lost the majority of games.  and with Gus gone.  Grant rushed for over 100 yards and we?   Lost.

 

So that says.  Unless Fournette hits the end zone. Over and over again.   A stronger ground offense.  Equals more losses.

It's not about how many yards you run for its about if your running back poses a threat which Fournette does. Teams will stack the box at times this year which they didn't last year and open up the passing game which the run never did last year because no one was scared of Grant.


That alone should help Bortles INTs because coverages will be softer. Less INTs means less stress and a more relaxed Bortles.

Do you have any clue what "journeyman" means?  Obviosuly not.
