What is really funny and pathetic at the same time is what her lawyer said during the presser.

 

 

"The message is clear," Bloom stated. "Criticize the president lose your job and that's what happened to Kathy...it stops here, it stops now."

 

The fact of the matter is that she didn't "criticize the president".  She chose to post a vile and disgusting photo that she thought was "funny" and "made a political statement".

 

The bottom line is she's losing her career over a very stupid decision and she needs to own up to it.

Any political affiliation can become a disease if followed like a religion, put above all else in one's existence - when you get to the point of wanting to exterminate all other viewpoints and opinions than your own. Alex Jones and Rachel Maddow are excellent examples of this.

 

It's not that either don't have points.  It's the rejection of all things opposite, and taking their points beyond the extreme (and pretending those extremes to be "normal.")  Waging societal war based on politics, and making every single facet of life a political crusade.  In a phrase, political activism.  It's hard to find a single activism initiative that isn't over the top from any point in the spectrum.

 

To recruit for war, you must recruit and create soldiers who will die for the cause.  Unfortunately too many people in today's society have sold their souls for their religion of politics and have dedicated themselves to destroying their perceived enemy by any means necessary.

 

Alinsky wrote the book teaching the left how to do this.  How to disrupt by recruiting and engaging mobs.  But the problem is, your intended audience isn't the only that reads such manuals.  The right is now fighting fire with fire, after realizing the rules of engagement had changed (that there are no longer rules, civilized discourse and common sense is dead - the squeakiest wheel, not the brightest ideas, can rule by brute force.)

 

People will have to choose civility and real, honest debate again before things will change for the good.  Otherwise... mob rule.  Idiocracy.

Per usual, a strawman is built to associate what is not the same.  To have a valid comparison, it would have been someone like Tim Allen, and those images shared outside the darkest corners of the internet and into the real world (her image was covered in mainstream media, perhaps even gleefully... and those you reference were no where to be found.)

 

But guess what... guys like Tim Allen aren't doing the things Kathy Griffin did.
