Jaguars defensive player to make NFL top 100, who is it?

I love him too, but Randal Cobb is the 100th top player, and McCray is not a Randal Cobb level of player. Not yet anyway.

The list doesn't even have a CB yet, so he'd have to be top 70 player MINIMUM.

Sorry, he's not there yet.

I do not hate any Jaguars player as I am fan of the team.  As a fan I am not obligated to hype up a player simply because he plays for my favorite team.  I have noticed over the years a majority of our fans (and maybe this is true with every fan of every team) tends to feel this need to hype up our players and claim that they are better than they really are and any that would argue differently must be a hater, or a troll.  I dont understand this type of thinking or what the motivation is to claim a guy is the best when he's still learning his craft.  I wonder do they think by claiming he is the best on the message board that it will some how come true?

The facts are Demetrius McCray is in his third year at CB.  He has 51 tackles (solo) 10 ast and only 5 PDs no interceptions no sacks, no forced fumbles.

To compare Aaron Colvin came back from an injury removed off of reserve list to play in a backup role for six games and had 23 solo tackles 4 asst, 1 rec fumble for a touchdown and two pds (as a backup where McCray was a starter) or simply compare Allen Ball in his first year as a Jaguar he had 14 Pds, 2 Ints 41 tackles with 6 asst (that was only his first year as a Jaguar).

To be fair stats dont tell the entire story, and McCray did a great job at shutting down WRs at times despite having the safety help, but to claim that McCray should be in the top 100 to me is a bit laughable.  He will most likely get the starting job across from House if he improved during this offseason but he's not even close to Top 100 in the NFL worthy.... and those that say he should probably should reevaluate why they think that.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
