I this this pick is Gus Bradleys piece of clay he is going to mold into one of his seattle guys, hasn't played a lot of ball and is still getting better with lots to learn

I believe Sample was part of @PFF 2nd round mock. Hearing good things about what he can do. #Jags strike again.

I can't say I love this pick, cuz I don't know much... But reading his rotoworld write up gets me excited...

More athletic than holliman, good in coverage, and a good tackler.

I wonder if he'll be a day one starter.

They are slowly jumping in on the Jags bandwagon.

Lol Tony Khan and crew are helping in that category no doubt.

Jaguars fourth round draft pick James Sample was graded by @PFF as the best coverage safety in the NCAA last season. Go Jags!

Wow. That's really interesting. And everyone's saying he's a box safety?

This will be an interesting situation to watch. But at first, I think he has a very good chance at being a ST ace. Not a glamorous role, but things got pretty bad on ST last year.

@PFF_Jim: James Sample finished with the highest coverage grade among safeties as well as sixth in Run Stop Rate.”

That's a really impressive combination. I'm all for bringing in analytics to guide the process. Football is still very much a throwback culture and this is something that can really give a team an edge if they use it properly. All sorts of value being passed over because the dinosaurs making the decisions can't adapt to change very well.

Our DB coach expects Sample to compete for FS with Sergio Brown. Also says Evans will back up Cyp. - Tweet from Hays Carlon

Good thing we don't have a FS...maybe we should bring in some FS competition ay?

He can play both. Try again.

That's because the coaching sucked.

Quote:Why on earth do you guys think he's a SS? Yeah he played there in college but his coverage skills are apparently good enough to make the switch.

Because no one has seen him play and hes listed as a SS

That's okay. Most of these clowns don't know anything about the player and automatically hate the pick.

Wow that is interesting. I certainly don't think he's a single-high safety. Wonder if Gus and the team are planning on straying a bit from the Seahawks scheme. There is only one Earl Thomas, after all.

Love the James Sample selection by #Jaguars. Will get quality coaching. Likely to end up being best safety in draft.
