Jaguars select fowler

Quote:I'm ok with the pick. Not my most favorite, mainly because I fear any pass rushers out of Florida after the Derrick harvey disaster. But we'll see.
Kearse,Carter and Dunlap pretty good though.

If Harvey never happened people would be creaming over this pick.

Agree - and this draft is deep at WR/RB.

Quote:Let's see. The majority of experts were saying it would be Williams, Cooper, or Fowler. Each one had tremendous upside. The Jags picked one of the 3 and the Jag fans hate it. Classic.

NFL network was saying that some teams had concerns about Williams shoulder issue, and that's why he slid as far as he did.

The Jags have been abundantly clear they're happy with the young group of receivers. Cooler would have been a nice pick up for the team, but they obviously felt it wasn't an area of need.

Fowler is the best edge rusher in the draft coming to a team that had a good line but a lackluster pass rush. The team needs a guy who will affect the qb. Fowler should do that pretty well on this line.

It's a solid pick. He'll have an immediate impact.
Yup

Dave said they dont expect to pick at the top of the draft next year, you only get so many shots at the top pass rusher in the draft

This reminds me of last year where there were only 2 players worth taking according to the majority.

Last year: Clowney & Watkins

This year: Williams & Cooper

And we picked someone different and then people whine because it's not one of the 2 that they've been hearing and reading about as being the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Agreed. He spoiled it, but hopefully Fowler puts that experience to rest once and for all.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Jaguars plan to get Fowler down to 250-255 pounds and keep him there. Believe he could get even faster off edge

My guess is that they'll get their RB before the night is over.

I hope so

Intersting that Beasley and Fowler jr will play in the same system, so we will see who is the best

Quote:Look out for us trading back in the first for Perriman...would make sense. Like the tenacity of Fowler

While I'd like an elite WR, I still think that Phillip Dorsett or maybe even Perriman may be there at the beginning of Round 2.

WR in round 2 ---  Dorsett or Perriman

RB in round 3 --- Duke Johnson or T. Coleman or Ajayi
