Can you help? Is Mr Khan a good owner

#1

Mr Khan Has owned our football (soccer) club for nearly 2years now many managers later, sale of 30plus players and staring relegation yet again. Can you please tell us what he is like for you. Cos reading you're posts you are as disillusioned as we are. Sorry to storm your forum but need to know. Is he a sports fan or a man with money and wants toys?

Be prepared to take a lot of heat for this post. Some users on this forum are more loyal to this ownership than anything else. You've been warned.

As an Arsenal fan and a Jaguars fan reading this, go away.

Here's a topic that I found on Fulham's forum about Khan that I think everyone might find interesting...

They have a much different interpretation of Khan's ownership than we do...It's probably the stash'. It has to be the stash that they don't like...

OK. So much is wrong with the OP, so let's address that. Fulham was never really world beaters. In the 5 years prior to Kahn they finished mid-table at 7th, 12th, 8th, 9th, and 12th. In the year prior to relegation, they were only 7 points above the drop off point, so it's not like they were well above relegation prior to Kahn.

As far as selling 30 players, it is part of relegation. Their is a Fair Play Policy in which relegated teams are forced to sell off players so that their budget is comparable to the other teams in the league, so as to not have a dramatic edge. Also, some players will force their own way out because they refuse to play in lower leagues. The OP gives the wrong image that Khan was doing some sort of massive roster overhaul like we have seen in an effort to completely rebuild a terrible roster his way. No, Fulham had a terrible roster and Khan was forced to sell players to comply with league rules. So, he had to make an already bad roster worse in an effort to avoid harsh penalties that can cripple a team.

As far as being relegated again. That is also pretty common. In a pretty recent year, Wolverhampton was relegated in back to back years, and then found their way back back up to the Championship and is within striking distance to have a chance to be promoted to the Premier League pending if they make and how they do in the playoffs. Here is a good article on how teams that have been relegated fare the next year: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footbal...nship.html. As you can see, relegated teams commonly finish in the bottom half of the table and are even more commonly just above the drop zone again as Fulham will be this year.

Soccer is set up in a way that makes it much harder for a team to turn around than our football.

You do realize the main reason they don't like him is because he is in the US most of the time and he is an out of town owner?  They basically think he's not hands on enough.

That's not how American football works.  Other than a few owners, most are hands off regardless.  You found a few Englishmen that agree with your line of thinking and somehow you think you have the upper hand on everyone's views about Khan?  It's really too bad Weaver didnt sell it to someone that would have moved the team by now so that you would have had your way.
