I think we all know that's nowhere near as easy as it sounds, or the way the team makes it sound, don't we?

 

An overhaul is harder for fans to take.  Hurts worse in the short term, but if done right isn't as much long term pain.

 

Our problem was we drew it out too long, kept too many pieces that weren't worth keeping.  But most of all QB so bad for so long, miss after miss at QB is the death kiss.

 

In perfect hindsight, of course.

It basically comes down to this: if the team that is rebuilding/overhauling has a competent HC, GM, and owner, the team has a great shot at a successful rebuild in a shorter period of time.

 

If NOT, then that team will continue to be bad, year after year after year, until they do get some competent football people in their top positions.

 

And yes, you have to find an above average or better QB to have any chance of long term success.

Being a Buckeyes fan does not guarantee I will always know where every former Ohio State player is any given day. Carlos Hyde could have changed teams without my knowing it because he is a backup. Dane Sanzenbacher did.

It started long before that, when Baalke and Harbaugh decided that they could no longer co-exist and team kept Baalke over Harbaugh.
