What QB's has he developed? Ej Manuel isn't a good sign.

Wouldn't this make Frank available to coach up Blake during the off-season?

Frank Scelfo is still emploiyed by the Jaguars. Until he is fired, Blake Bortles will have to work with someone else in the offseason.

If the hiring of Hackett meant the team fired Scelfo, then yes, Scelfo would be available to coach Bortles during the offseason.

“It just shows what kind of team we are. We’re a tough team. We like contact. We’re very physical. We want the issue to be brought to us so we can show people we can stand up to it and overcome it. Seeing that’s just a symbol of our team and who we are.” - Jaguars DT Malik Jackson

Ehhh... I'd say the Skins are a trainwreck because they are constantly dysfunctional as a franchise.

To be bluntly honest... our lil "trainwreck" started Del Rio's final year. And hopefully finished up with this past season. If we see any sort of improvement the comparison can't even be made to DC.

DC... the team that mortgages a future away for RG3. Then allows that player to run off a really good coach, and then causes a stir with the new staff as well.

DC the team that has had waaay more talent than us on both sides of the ball for awhile, and still can't get it done in what was perceived as a weaker division.

DC is a train wreck.

Cleveland is a train wreck.

Jax fans are like the spoiled brats of the NFL. All because of some stellar years early in the franchise's history.

Detroit, Cincy, Cleveland... all these fans have been waiting like 20 years for a playoff win.

We had one in 2007.

All these franchises have ran through a dozen coaches and a couple dozen QBs.

We've had... like 5 of either...

Yeah the past few seasons have been bad... really bad... but it happens to every franchise.

Yes that's what I meant, if he was fired

It's clear that -  while the rebuild in Jax is a slow  (too slow) process - Shad/Caldwell/Bradley have no dysfunction working and making decisions together.

That's more attractive to many potential coaches than the situation in DC.

We're rebuilding?

Um, yes we are rebuilding. Have you been asleep for quite some time?

Pretty sure you're kidding, but yeah.

We are two drafts and two FA periods into a massive rebuild that already has left only 5 players on the roster that played a game in Jacksonville prior to the 2012 season.  And that number could easily shrink by September.

Didn't you know this was a 5-year build process?

reportedly has turned down Rams to be OC and is on his way to Jville to be QB coach.  Oh the joy of telling Fisher I'd rather be a position coach in Jville than be your OC

Quote:I'm not sure how this is a train wreck. The Jags have been methodical about the process they're following, and they are clearly focused on a plan. That starts at the top and works its way down through the GM and the coaching staff.

Washington is a train wreck in every sense of the word because they don't have someone in place at the top of that organization who has a clue. Snyder reminds me of a message board poster and fan boy who made enough money to buy the team he rooted for. What you've seen from that organization since then is what you'd see if, say, someone from this message board who thinks they have all the answers actually wound up in charge of the process.
That train wreck beat us last year....

Also it's a done deal for Hacket to come here. Curious as to why they brought him in.

WOW...

and so It begins...

What I take from all of this is Gus has hired 4 new Coaches all of which are to focus on jump-starting the Jags Offense just as Gus jump-started the Jags defense in 2014.

That train wreck beat a team that was starting how many rookies on the offensive line, protecting a QB who was about as elusive as the bronze statue in front of the stadium?  The Jags aren't even in the same universe as the Redskins when it comes to train wrecks.  The Jags were simply a very young team that took their lumps last year.  They'll improve.  Not so sure the same can be said for Washington.

Interesting if it turns out to be true.

Wonder what Scelfo's role will be, or if him being on the staff is simply a matter of timing, and now that they have Hackett on board, maybe they'll let him walk?  We shall see.

Frank Scelfo coached at Arizona as the Offensive Coordinator to an offense Quarterbacked by Nick Foles.
