Doug Marrone new Assistant Head Coach/OL coach

#21

I guess Ryan O' was right at the end of the day. Looks like some folks were too quick to dismiss his reporting.

Quote:Marrone taking care of our weakest unit??? I like it.

Get on Lukex2, find a RT and let's do this thing!

This. I think with Marrone coaching the OL the LJ debate will wind up being settled one way or another next season. Coaching won't be an excuse for this OL.

“It just shows what kind of team we are. We’re a tough team. We like contact. We’re very physical. We want the issue to be brought to us so we can show people we can stand up to it and overcome it. Seeing that’s just a symbol of our team and who we are.” - Jaguars DT Malik Jackson

I'll take a big healthy heaping of that crow being served.

Doug agreed to be the OL Coach after being assured by Tony Boselli that this OL only relinquished 8 of the 71 sacks they gave up last season.

Just for reference Buffalo gave up 48 sacks in 2013 and 39 sacks last season; we gave up 71 sacks.

Lol. I really hope Marrone can help our O-line. That's key in order to see what we really have in Blake.

I'm all for it. I would have been happy with him as the OC personally and had hoped for as much in another post last week.

Anddd the dominoes start dropping. Huge pickup for Jags. Hopefully he is here long enough to set our line straight and provide the blueprint. 2 years should do it.

Man im hoping on the unlikely scenario Gase chooses Jax over Baltimore. A coach with Head Coach aspirations just can't simply be "won over" with money.

Can't wait to see whats next.

Any for people who will wonder why Marrone would take this job, he is getting 4 mil from the Bills, he couldve just stayed home and got paid, but he still gets to be in football and still gets paid.

The Jaguas may actually have an O-Line next fall. Dreams do come true!

This is a good hire.  He'll get that line in shape.  I feel sorry for Luke Butkus.  He got thrown into the fire with Yarno's health issues.  I'm curious to see if he's kept on the staff as the assistant line coach, or if they move in a different direction, especially with the revelation that Tony Boselli is actually out there with the staff as an OL coach.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I read that last year the Ravens interviewed 20 guys for their OC job, and Gase is the first person they interviewed this year, if the Ravens want him they would have to give him the job now or he's coming to Jax
