Denard can perform the cutbacks and explosive steps needed in a zone scheme plus he has the vision of the field being a former QB to wait for blocks.


Remember he does understand defenses as a qb and rb i think this qb know where to go with the ball mentality on a RB body bodes well for him and Blake in the read option game too. Imagine the possible PA's with Denard doing wheel routes.

Slowby must have been playing thru an injury because he couldnt power thru runs as he is claimed to be good at, and he couldnt cut & he seemed very slow...

 

To be fair, he was playing with half a dozen rookie starters on offense, an offensive line none of whom had ever lined up with any of the other offensive linemen, in a brand new system for him, on a team that was really bad coming out of the gate, and none of the other running backs did anything either in those games.  

 

Good lord, give the guy a break.
