Six weeks is less than half a season. If Lewis is not put on IR/DTR, that is a realistic possibility for a high ankle sprain.

6-8 weeks is a fair estimate for a high ankle sprain.  Fred Taylor was talking about this on Monday night, and he said that when he suffered a similar injury in NE, it took him 10 weeks to get back on the field.  Hopefully Lewis doesn't take that long.

According to some posters here I understand he is no loss. Next man up. Our next tight end needs to be 8 feet tall or 8 inches tall. That way he will be able to catch 50% of Henne's throws.

Seriously though, that sucks because this team needs him.

That must have been a severe one. Maybe his age (over 30) had something to do with that.

So it is about time to draft a new tight end anyway.

We're going to see how significant this loss is this week.  For those who say it's not a big deal, I think they're going to be surprised.  While he's not a huge weapon as a receiver, he does make his fair share of catches.  And with the line as inept as it has been, having him out there has made it look a little less bad than it could.  With him out, Fisch is actually going to have to game plan to get the ball out quickly this week.

We suck at getting the ball out quickly.  If any team is bad at WR screens it is us.  Great dink and dunk thats the ticket to a bunch of 3 and outs.  No thanks.

Btw I don't think the colts Dline is that good, however they are playing us so time for 8 sacks!!

What does any of that have to do with Lewis being out 6-8 weeks?

He's been placed on IR w/designation to return. He can start practicing again in 6 weeks.
