Quote:I'm fairly certain the Jews who were abused, tortured and murdered in Germany weren't selected for their race.

They were selected because they were Jews, whether they were religious or not. The Nazis believed the Aryan race to be pure, and considered marriage to anyone not Aryan to be traitors. When they identified Jews they did so from physical appearance and family lineage as much as where a person worshiped. If a person had both an Aryan and Jewish parent, the person was considered a Jew. It absolutely had everything to do with race.

The definition of "race" includes more than just common skin color, physical features or historical lineage, however very few Jews slaughtered in the Holocaust were converts, they were born Jews.

If I remember my history correctly, the Nazi's portrayed Jews and other non-desirables as less than the Aryan race.  The Aryan race being the "ideal" in physical and mental individual characteristics.

Jewish people were portrayed and caricatured as looking and thinking a specific way.  Their religion became less and less what the issue was, while they're physical attributes and mental deficiencies (in the eyes of the Nazis) were the key to they're selection for a final solution by the elites in the Party.

Quote:Sure. A "race of people" can be determined by nationality, tradition, religion, culture, location.

Obviously, the debate over this can't happen here beyond the politics of the discussion.

Another example, perhaps less controversial than the JDL, is B'nai B'rith. Non-violent, dedicated to the cause of promoting a race of people. Is that so wrong?

"race of people" is not determined by nationality, tradition, religion, culture, location. It is determined by genetics. This is scientifically proven. A "race of people" can have different nationalities, tradition, religion, culture, and locations, but those alone do not make a race.

Are science and statistics racist?

Yes. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Not really a time that inspired anyone to convert to Judaism.

There are three races..Caucasian, Mongoloid and Negroid. Unless you call buttholes of the world a race...Hemoroid

Anyway..of those three, Im sure there are practicing Jews. So to say they are a race, imo, is false.

There have been studies on theses races for their many characteristics..cranial size..frontal lobe size, where increased reasoning and social skills are found. Of the three there is a difference in these areas. hence, notable difference in not only appearance of races.

It has nothing to do with beliefs, such as judaism, christian ,muslim, whatever.
