Quote:I had to double check this, but wow... it truly is incredible what Mike Smith did. Take a look at their standings history and what happened as soon as Mike arrived..

Yeah it's very impressive. I cited that yesterday. He had five straight winning seasons as soon as he hit the door there in Atlanta. That's not an easy feat for any coach.

He also catches a lot of heat for his final two years there but if my memory doesn't fail me I think he had a ton of injuries on both sides of the football that set him back.

Quote:Patricia, but when we never actually interviewed him unless it somehow was under wraps like no other HC candidate out there.

Mike Smith was the only defensive guy we interviewed. Dominik used to be a GM in TB and has connections. Mike Smith was the DC for TB this year. It's pretty obvious it's him at this point.

I still question how he knew anything to tweet anything, but if it is a defensive guy, it's almost gotta be Mike Smith. As you said, Patricia would have interviewed. The only other possibility might be a defensive guy who played in the WC games and hasn't had a chance to interview as in Teryl Austin or Vance Joseph. Again, though, how would we be so honed in on either with no interviews as of yet? So, it's gotta be Mike Smith or an ignorant tweet.

Quote:Mike Smith is perfect for the Jaguars. Mediocre at best. Fits them like a glove.

Screw this team as hard as possible.

The consulting firm can talk to anyone from what I read, but I think it's Mike Smith. If Caldwell is in charge, I'm sure he will trust Smith to save his job. I like it.

That's insane. He's yet to coach as a coordinator in the NFL. He's only coached linebackers for the past five years. LOL.

Why? If anything it makes the Rams appear desperate.

Just checking in...

Everyone still freaking out that we aren't hiring the ghost of Vince Lombardi and reading way too much into meaningless tweets?

OK. Great.

Carry on.

Love interviewing a LB coach to move up to HC with no prior coordinating experience.......check

Possibly bringing in a successful defensive coordinator who also had a winning career record....meh.

We made out great the last time we brought in a d-coordinator...right?

Oh wait, I'm getting it now. You like it because you know we won't interview him.

Okay you have really, really jumped the shark this time.

Hey the Jaguars are interviewing the spiritual adviser to the Patriots equipment manager.  Now that is really out of the box thinking there. Wink

Vrabel sure seems like reach for HC, but I bet he'd be a great DC candidate.
