Did you seriously expect anything different?

What's sad is that you actually believe this.

If this team didn't need a QB, none of these guys (QBs) would be listed at top 5 "elite" prospects....

Clowney

Watkins

Possibly Robinson

Clowney and Watkins IMO. If they could have gone pro out of high school they still would have been top picks.

I think there is a lot of truth to this.

Possibly but a franchise QB trumps everything.

Yes but if the QB wouldn't be rated as a top 5 talent....then you are reaching for him because of need

My answer is in the context of the Jacksonville Jaguars #3 overall selection in the draft.

Elite talent- DE/Leo- Jadeveon Clowney- elite level size and athleticism who plays a high impact position.  Red flags with motor and motivation.  Explosive player who will test a coaches patience.  High risk/ High reward type player.  Has the raw tools to develop into a true difference maker who has to be accounted for on all plays, drawing multiple blockers which would free up his teammates.  Needs to go to the right type of coach who can maximize his potential through proper motivation.  Has the highest ceiling of any player in this draft, yet also has a relatively low floor for a player of his physical attributes.

Above average talents at level of extreme need: QB Teddy Bridgewater.  Gym rat who loves to ball.  Not the prototypical height size or throwing power.  Has adequate size and mobility.  Excels at reading defenses and going through his progressions.  Loves the game.  Loves to study film and get better.  Above average on short and intermediate routes.  Above average pocket presence and good rush avoidance.  Always keeps his eyes down field.  Will work hard and get better as a pro.  Has a relatively high floor because of the intangibles that he brings to the team.  If groomed properly with adequate weapons; he could be a ten year starter in the league.

OLB/Leo- Khalil Mack- very good player whose primary position would be Sam lb.  Very good athlete with very good technique despite playing at a smaller school.  Creates a lot of game changing plays.  Would upgrade one of the weakest position groups on the team.  Has a relatively high floor.  Mack is rated third on this list because the Sam lb is not a premium position.  He can rush the passer and also drop into coverage giving the defense a lot of strategic flexibility.  Some scouts have compared him to former New Orleans Saints Hall of Famer Ricky Jackson.

While I feel that WR Sammy Watkins is a very fluid and explosive athlete and will be a good player in the NFL, I just don't feel that the Jaguars roster is in a position in which they could draft a wr at #3 overall.  This is a very deep WR draft and a talented contributor can be found in the later rounds.

Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.
