Tom Coughlin HC, Marvin Lewis DC, OC?

What is wrong with hiring a bunch of big name head coaches?

Not necessarily. Have you seen destability in many places where multiple big name HCs are employed by the same team? Coaches know what their jobs are.

Also, you might want to look at how many years some coaches stayed on teams as assistants.

I agree with everyone who does not want him. He is a great OC at New England, but like many others with ties to Bill Belichick he can't succeed as a HC.

Only as an OC, not the HC.

You know this because of his single, 2 season stint.

And the history of other Belichick assistants sucking as head coaches.

Quote:I somewhat agree but the dude has had some terrible luck.

Palmer out for game early in one playoff game. They were 10-2 last year before Dalton was injured. Played another playoff game with no Green or Atkins.

He's been a head coach since 2003 and we have more playoff victories than him during that same timeframe.

Sure, Marvin Lewis has had some serious injuries to deal with, but those teams were plenty talented (especially over the past few seasons) where he could have at least managed one playoff victory. You figure in seven trips to the postseason, you'd almost luck into one victory.

Quote:I have not read any reports about Marvin Lewis being on the hot seat yet. Until I do, my assumption is anyone who wants him made up the idea just to have a discussion.

Offensive coordinator: Vince Lombardi

Defensive coordinator: Tom Landry

This actually happened.

The guy spent a first round pick on Tim Tebow.   That's a strong argument against him, in my book.

We passed on Andy Reed, look what he has done in KC

Give me a HC that is proven

Coughlin

Sean Payton
