Comey was crooked, end of story.  That whole tap dance last year, with Comey making a public announcement about the Hillary case he never should have made, and Lynch kinda-sorta-but-not-really recusing herself, so that the decision not to prosecute Hillary was ultimately made by....nobody?  A nameless, faceless group of dedicated professionals at the Justice Department decided to pass on prosecuting thousands of federal crimes that were clearly evident to the public.

The timing makes more sense when you break down how this happened. It's become abundantly clear that the Deputy District Attorney Rod Rosenstein had a clear agenda from the get-go to get Comey fired. He even canvassed all available former Attorneys General and Deputy Attorneys General to get their opinion, and they all agreed that Comey over-stepped his bounds as the FBI Chief. This surely would have been done much sooner if it wasn't for Rosentein only finally getting confirmed two weeks ago.

 

Bingo.  The guy has been on the job for two weeks.

The FBI, not Comey personally, was investigating possible Russian interference in the election. They were not investigating Trump.


Comey grabbed the role of Attorney General in his first press conference. He also lied to congress in grossly exaggerating the number of E-mails Huma Abedin sent to Weiner. I agree that he has offended both sides, but nonetheless he needed to be fired.

Firing Comey does nothing to stop an investigation for possible ties with Russia. Please, give the rest of the FBI some credit. If there is anything, it will be found. Comey is a clown who politicized his position and should never have.

There is zero doubt about this. If I had any shred of belief he was honest, it all ended when I watched his testimony. This guy was shady and an embarrassment to the FBI. He was making it into reality TV. (And yes, Trump does that to the presidency, but he was elected, not hired).
