Guys...it's time to move on.

Quote:MJD needs to go. 10 games in, and not one single hundred yard game. Maybe we can trade him for a 3rd, or 4th rounder. If we're really lucky we might suck some dumb, gullible team in and trade him for a 2nd. It will be our version of the Herschel Walker trade.

NBA dude, sign and trade.

No no no. You can't blame him for having a crappy season, how is any runningback supposed to have a good season when the defenses scouting report is: "They can't pass! Stop the run and we win!"

It's been that way for a long time and he's been effective until this year....

He's definitely not the same.  I'd offer him a very reasonable and relatively cheap deal.   I think he will do what Greg Jones did and go play for a contender (2-8 now, lol).

We definitely need to find a RB.  Although RB has become a need, it's not as big of a need as QB, O-line, D-end

Has it really been this bad though? I mean, by now the jury is out on our tandem of terrible QB's. The defense knows that they have no business being on an NFL field. Maybe I'm just noticing it now, but if they have been THIS sold on the run for a long time, then MJD should be given a medal for ever having a 100+ yard game.

There will probably be some team out there that might offer us more for him. As they probably will think that if he is in a more productive system, than he will shine again.

There are almost no examples of a running back looking as past his prime as MJD looks and then returning to glory. We have seen many recent examples of the opposite. Steven Jackson, Edgerrin James, Clinton Portis. Plenty of running backs are done at 30.

And he'll  be 29 in a few months. And he looks done.

It's likely that his year leading the league in rushing is the last good year he has. That's what happened with Shaun Alexander. League MVP, leading rusher and then nothing.

Folks, forget about trading MJD.   We are past the trade deadline, and he's in the last year of his contract.   Trading him is NOT POSSIBLE.

Can we trade him for some European beer and pizza from Arturo's in New York?

Not sure if we need to re-up him next year.  RB's are easier to find these days.  Tampa Bay's been through three and they've all looked like studs.  Our #1 can't get more than 3 a carry.
