FA OLine Help?

#1

I still expect the Jags to sign a FA Center and Guard.  We still have too many holes on the OLine.

I would love to see the Jags sign Zuttah at Center and a Guard like Andrew Tiller (Chiefs) or John Greco (Browns)

I see additional changes coming!

Go Jags

Maybe a guy who brings his lunch Poelh to work every day.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

I remember that Boone was one of the OL a lot of people here wanted in 2016 FA.
I read he was released because he didn't want a pay cut and not because he was injured or anything. He's a left guard, anyone has seen how he performed last season with the Vikings? (on an offense that was plagued with horrible injuries)

We need a LG (well also a RG) badly...

A lot of the Vikings fans said he was a bad scheme fit. They said he needs to be in a power scheme which incidentally, is what we need.

Cool, let's see if they try and bring him in. Hard to imagine he'll be much worse of what we have at the guard spots probably...

Boone and Greco make since as stop-gaps to me. I hope they kick the tires on one of these guys.

There's a lot of talk about Watford taking the LG job now, and that concerns me. In the course of his first two series in ATL he was called for a hold and then later was bullrushed straight back into the QB.
I confess to not analyzing much of his play -- but that's not how I want a starter to "stand out" against back-ups.

The scheme,  combined with the high value contract Alex Boone had,  probably were the issues much more than the concern of declining physical skills.

A question that comes to mind is whether Boone will sign a new contract this week or after game # 1 when his base salary for the season wouldn't be guaranteed?

If we signed Boone and Greco, I'd feel a lot more confident in the OL

the fact we havent signed one of these guys or reportedly even talked to them/interested in them just shows the incompetence of this franchise

I honestly think they want to lose

Boone makes sense. Greco does not. Generally speaking, help is not on the way. Our starting tight end is our second best offensive lineman going into week 1. That's disheartening.

If any signing is imminent it will most like be after week 1 when their contract isn't fully guaranteed.

I'm really curious how much you've seen either play.

Can we please stop bringing up the over-the-hill vet with a Lis Franc injury that at his age is probably never healing? Nobody is signing Greco.
