Hoyer Released

Rumor is he'll go over to be the NE backup.

Not sure how I'd feel about Jax signing him at this point. He's not better than the way Blake has been playing.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Brian Hoyer would be ideal for the Patriots for the remainder of the season. An experienced backup that's been part of their organization and knows the Offensive System.

The Hoyer to Patriots connection is obvious. He was going to be part of the trade, but something about compensatory picks that NFL.com did not explain made the 49ers only trade a second round pick and cut him instead. New England will sign him before any other team gets a chance.

I know how I feel... NO THANKS!

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

I was surprised Brian Hoyer did not work out in San Francisco. He talked about being better with Kyle Shanahan the second time than the first time because he knew the playbook. It seemed like he was having a good season in Chicago before Julius Peppers broke his left arm and I thought with Shanahan in San Francisco, he can't be worse.
