Rapoport reports Bradley will Not be fired midseason

#81

What a depressing season.

We can't even lose right for the small glimmer of hope of getting the worst coach in the history of the NFL fired.

Anchorman, my response to space coast jag was a joke...it apparently wasn't as obvious as I planned.

Does firing a coach mid season really do anything though?  What cant you do right now if you havent fired your coach?  You can already start putting out feelers.  You can already start having conversations with people.

Quote:Khan is beyond clueless. Everyone knows what the Jags have in Gus Bradley, a special teams clapping coordinator. An intelligent owner takes the rest of the season to see what they have in Doug Marrone as interim coach before hiring a permanent long term answer after the season.

Then again, intelligent people would have canned Gus Bradley after last year. Khan has shown his ineptness when it comes to football.

Thank you for that post. Sums up Bradley and Khan perfectly!

Warning: Reasonable Post Alert!

Khan is smarter than you think. He probably sees things like:

  1. Gus isn't the one dropping passes, or batting them up into the air to be intercepted.
  2. Gus isn't the one failing to create running lanes, or adequate passing lanes.
  3. The best players on this team are about three years into their career, or less - they are professionals, who aren't in their prime.
  4. The team is frustrated and it is showing with the fights.
  5. Penalties show a lack of discipline on the players. The coaching staff isn't drawing penalties (like Mularkey did by hilariously throwing his headset onto the field)
  6. Firing the coach right now does nothing to make any of this improve, and will in fact set the team back an even greater distance and take even longer to have things hopefully start to gel.
  7. There is no guarantee that a new coach, even famous ones, could make this team into a winner.
  8. The only people who may even be expecting a firing are fans, who rightly so are a bit pissed off, and deperately want to see something change. And media types who want to create click bait.
I expect a loss tonight by double digits. I will be forced to deal with the depression that comes from losing to 2 former Jag coaches who were fired here (pleasing the fan base) in back to back weeks.

All in all - this team goes nowhere until the professionals on the field step up and play like they should. That's on them. Not the Xs and Os and halftime adjustments.

It's a message board, so probably. They've given up though.

The worse Bortles plays the more spacecoast finds fault with Khan. Funny how that works.

This thread is Message Board Gold! Message board yahoos lecturing Shad Khan. Doesn't get any better than this.

Well don't you think the coach is responsible for most of that?

The "Gus isn't the one doing <insert bad thing here>" is such a tired excuse.

So why do we even have coaches then if they don't really effect the game and it's all on the players?

For some people, nothing will ever be Gus's fault.

Coaches affect the other 6 days of the week more than game day which is more, if not most important.

It's like preparing for and taking a test. You study, then you execute.

Quote:As is the case in The Inferno, the jags will win this game. It will be an uninspired win. A sloppy win. But a win, no less.

It will be a win that keeps Gus as head coach and us in Perdition for 10 more games.

Book it.

No matter what we do  Gus Bradley is staying in Jacksonville at least through January 1, 2017. Winning is only good for the team however you look at it.

Can't Khan just do what Ford did to the Lions last year? (Plus Gus)

All firing the coach does is change Doug Marrone's job title from AHC to IHC.

if the teacher sucks at teaching you will most likely fail the test

What did Ford do to the Lions last year?

FYI the HC, not the owner, hires and fires OCs.

There ya go...

No, Bradley doesn't catch balls or get his passes batted down at the LOS, but this team makes more boneheaded plays and penalties than I have ever seen and that is preparation.
