Run game will be key to beating patriots..

We were without Chris Ivory and still scored 45..

I think we keep Brady off the field.. Making it easier for Bortles.. Our defense will do there part.. Marqise Lee and DeDe Westbrook will work the outside.. Allen Hurns finally healthy will work the y position which is a position that the patriots have struggled with recently..

I wonder if there is already a thread about “keys” to beating the patriots.

Keep Brady off the field and put up points on offense. Smack the crap out of him when he is on the field.
No pain, no gain.

As a Bills fan, I've had the misfortune of watching New England twice a year for the past three decades. The NFL is all about matchups and I do think that the Jags match up well on defense. Brady is a different QB is you can get pressure on him. However he destroys the blitz so the pressure has to come from the front 4 - ideally directly up the middle. The Jags also have bigger and more physical press corners and quick linebackers who can cover (sans Pozlusny) running backs and Tight ends.

Believe it or not though, I think the key will be shutting down New England's running game. Outside of Tennessee Brady has a pretty average stretch of games. It doesn't seem like he can throw the ball deep with accuracy like he used to However since midseason, the run game has picked up with Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead (who will be active) which helped take pressure off Brady. If they can shut down the run game and pressure Brady while allowing maximum coverage on intermediate route, there's a chance.

I do have to say the big concern will be what the Jags do on offense. My guess is the plan will be to run Fournette and limit chances by Bortles to make mistakes. New England has been susceptible to the run, as I witnessed when the Bills played them on Christmas Eve. The one thing that the NE defense does well is keep opponents out of the redzone. It's tough to keep up with the offense when you exchange field goals for touchdowns. I think Marrone and Hackett need to realize you beat NE with touchdowns and have to be aggressive in play calling.

The other thing that concerns me is Bill Belichick against Blake Bortles. I think we can all agree that Bortles is what he is and typically BB has had a lot of success scheming against QB's that are somewhat limited or prone to making mistakes.

It's probably the biggest game in franchise history. Hoping for a NE loss
