No it isn't.  I've never met a healthy vegan that didn't look like the walking dead.

Regarding Arian, he is probably making the right decision.  I hate to bring this up, but my niece and his sister are really good friends.  From what I understand, he's pretty much done with the pain and the degradation to his body.

I know plenty of vegans that looks perfectly healthy. It's just incredibly hard because they have to eat a lot more then they think they do to maintain that hence why you don't see it very often. It can be perfectly healthy but it requires a lot of dedication and a lot more eating than one would think.

I don't see why anyone would think otherwise. He said as much and it's not like he's had an injury free career.

I am sure you guys are being facetious, but in case you really don't know, yes, being vegan is much better for you and lowers the rate of most Cancers significantly: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23169929

"When analyzing the association of specific vegetarian dietary patterns, vegan diets showed statistically significant protection for overall cancer incidence (HR, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.72-0.99) in both genders combined and for female-specific cancers (HR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.47-0.92). Lacto-ovo-vegetarians appeared to be associated with decreased risk of cancers of the gastrointestinal system (HR, 0.75; 95% CI, 0.60-0.92).

CONCLUSION:

Vegetarian diets seem to confer protection against cancer.

IMPACT:

Vegan diet seems to confer lower risk for overall and female-specific cancer than other dietary patterns. The lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets seem to confer protection from cancers of the gastrointestinal tract."

And one more:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24871675

"Vegetarian diets confer protection against cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic risk factors, some cancers and total mortality. Compared to lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to offer additional protection for obesity, hypertension, type-2 diabetes, and cardiovascular mortality. Males experience greater health benefits than females."

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Calcium for bone strength. Protein for maintaining muscle. Proven fact vegans wear out faster than a normal person. They have more joint pain and fatigue. Arian foster is a prime example. Always hurt with soft tissue injuries or a bone injury, that's just facts tho.

I wasn't being facetious when I brought it up. Being vegan may be a good thing for an every day, run of the mill, human being. I kust can't see how it could possibly be good for a professional athlete.
