It’s unfortunate for sure. Problem is neither side wants to be wrong and neither side wants to admit when there is a right. It’s an explosion of identity politics at its worst. Kind of just have to sit back and realize idiots will be idiots. 

Dems want to be loud and the Rep base just sits back and watches. I honestly believe if this continues we’ll lose the party that has been traditionally labeled Democrat for one more in line with socialism.

I didn't see riots in the streets. I didn't see people get Obama hats ripped off their heads. Antifa? Yeah, that's a leftest group that was strangely silent for 8 years. What about Occupy Democrats, oh yeah, they were silent for 8 years too.

The point is those of us on the right do not use the tactics of the left to get our point across

There was a vocal and more informed minority there who simply said that an institution which is too-big-to-fail should be broken up into smaller institutions that compete with each other. You know as our ancestors back in the 1890s figured out.

Sure there was a lot of grumbling among people who were dissappointed, but there wasn't anywhere near the level of violence and hate we're seeing by liberals since Trump took office. Most republicans said their piece and then went about with their daily lives for the next four years. Nobody was advocating civil war, suggesting Obama should be assassinated, shooting at Democrats in office, or telling White House staffers they're not welcome to eat at their restaurant.
