Jags/Raiders score predictions.

#21

Quote:I'm not going to predict a score for this game, but i will tell you this if Jags are gonna win they need to find a way to get up by at least 21 points going into the 4rth qtr. if its close JDR will find a way to pull out the win.

Come on Snow. We watched that same guy here for 9 years. He's not some kind of sorcerer that can will his team to victory. This game could come down to whoever has the ball last.

2 questions:

1) What is JDR's overall record here and who was his GM?

2) What is GB's overall record here and who is his GM?

I want us to win so bad, but until we can beat a "good" team I will pick us to lose.

My mom always told me that if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all so in your case i'm going to listen to my mother's advice.

We barely squeaked by the Colts.

We barely squeaked by the Bears.

This game is over at halftime, though the Final Score will hide how ugly it was.

Yup, we won barely against 2 bad teams. And people talking like we turned the corner, learning how to win, resiliency, winning the division. lol

Lets not pretend like the Raiders have been winning convincingly.

They beat the Saints and the Ravens by 1 point each.

And they beat the titans by 7. And the Chargers by 3. A game in which San Diego's holder dropped the snap on a game tying field goal.

Again.

We lost to 2 of those teams... one of which dominated us.

Let's not pretend the Jags are competitive.  We squeaked by 2 other REALLY bad teams.

We lost BADLY to the Chargers, who are terrible.

We lost to the Ravens, who have been exposed as bad.

We kept it close, and lost, to the Packers, who are openly struggling.

I get, as fans, you want to be optimistic.. but watch the Jags games, then switch over and watch the rest of the league... It's not close.  It's VERY obvious that we are not playing competitive football right now.

How people can still be talking Playoffs... I just don't know.  We're worse than our 2-3 record indicates.

I would take being an optimist over being pessimistic.

I don't think Diz is too far off...like he said, go back and watch the games.

However, I will say this...San Diego/Philip Rivers has had our number for years.  I don't know how, and I don't know why, but they have.

edit:  But take away the Chargers, and we always seem to play right at the level of the competition.

I don't think the Jaguars have played that good this year. They were fortunate to beat Chicago and probably should have beaten Baltimore. This is a 2-3 team. But I don't see Oakland being that much more impressive. Their wins have been equally close and have been against mediocre teams.

Honestly... I'm not even being pessimistic.. just realistic.

The team simply hasn't shown anything this year to suggest that they are ready to be competitive.

For what it's worth, I'd love nothing more than for something to just click, and for the team to suddenly play at a significantly higher level and make all of this talk seem silly.  I just don't count the close wins against 2 bad teams to be that proof, especially when we were only effective for 1 quarter against the Bears.

As much as I WANT to see the Jags succeed, I'm not going to join the hype train of people who think, based on what we've seen so far this season, that we're somehow ready to compete.  The talent is there... it's just not happening yet for some reason.

The Raiders have scored 152 points this year through 6 games, with a -11 point differential.

The Jaguars have scored 101 points this year through 5 games, with a -26 point differential (24 of those were at the hands of the Chargers).

Based on those stats alone, I believe this will be a close game, and will probably come down to which ever team has the ball last...and of course turnovers.
