Coordinator for Bortles

We got Doug Marrone because he was the only guy willing to take the job with BB at the helm.

What I noticed this season from the 1st game was that they were really focused on timing routes that gets the ball out of Bortles hands in 3 seconds.  Rarely ever does he improvise and throw on the run which I previously thought was one of his strengths.

Who cares, Blake's already torpedoed 3 coordinators. It'll happen with a 4th as long as he is forced to keep starting Bortles.

So you all think Marrone takes the helm for the last five games and Bortles stays under center? Everything stays the same except Hackett is gone? Even Mark Brunell said on Channel 4 news this morning before the OC firing announcement that at 3-8 personnel changes were coming and decisions about what to do at quarterback needed to be made and that things could get even worse. And Mark has never been negative about Bortles. Not once.

So I hope you all are wrong and Kessler takes over to help us tank the season. I just cannot stomach watching my team’s scoring machine being led by a big time choker!

Mike Kafka QB coach of the Chiefs. What he has done with Mahomes is nothing short of amazing.

Why do you find that funny? Mahomes has been the best QB in the NFL this year.

It's certainly the hot trend to snag people off of the Reid or McVay tree so I don't hate the idea.

I can tell you I'm very much over the retread OCs or DCs. This league needs new blood.

Because Blake Bortles does not possess half the skill set or instincts Mahomes has.

Don't do that to poor Kafka. He deserves a shot to further his career not drive it into the ground.

Duh! I didn't mean for us to keep Bortles. I bench his butt, until we can cut him without a major cap hit. I want to get Kafka to work with a rookie that we draft.

They are going to be the popular names come January. Any of the coordinators for the Rams, Chiefs, Saints. And I think teams will look at Reich at the Colts and think you can give maybe a position coach a shot.

If the league is going to be spread O's and fast RB's and WR's then maybe it's time to start looking at some college coaches for coordinator spots. I'm not a big fan of the idea but it's the way the league is going.

Agree. Obviously everyone loves Lincoln Riley but I've heard Matt Campbell from Iowa State come up a bunch as well.

Ok, well then that makes sense. I thought you had lost your mind there for a minute!

Has he always been Reid's QB coach?
I ask because Reid has been pretty good at making offensive systems QBs can be successful in. He was successful with Garcia and Kevin Kolb...
How much of what is going on with Mahomes in KC is Kafka and how much is Reid?

If we're not getting a new HC and new QB... what does it matter though? lol

I think we should get a defensive coach who is gonna let his OC do his thang (Jim Schwartz/Kliff Kingbury combo sounds sweet to me) OR a young offensive minded head coach, a la McVay. (Maybe someone from the Reid tree or something....)

But if Marrone is coach and Blake is QB... what is a new OC gonna do?
Design new ways to throw a crosser or damn screen pass? hahahahah

He's not coming in to be head coach.  What's the problem with this?:

Offensive coordinator (2014–2015)

In 2014, McAdoo joined Tom Coughlin’s staff as the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants.[5] In his first season as offensive coordinator, the Giants offense improved from the 28th-highest-scoring offense in 2013 under Kevin Gilbride to 13th in 2014. In 2015, the offense took another leap forward, becoming the sixth-highest-scoring offense despite losing starting left tackle Will Beatty, starting wide receiver Victor Cruz, and starting tight end Larry Donnell for most of the season due to injury.

Meh, Reid is the guy shown sitting with Mahomes between offensive possessions all the time.  I don't know much about Kafka, but it certainly seems Mahomes is a Reid creation to me.
