I would trade Blake and a conditional low pick for him. Anyway, curious if anyone else thinks hes an upgrade.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

He would be an upgrade.

He is always gets injured but if he comes cheap, sure, I'd take him, at worst he is a very good backup imo, but he probably wants a lot of money and a big chance to start.

I don't see a team signing Tannehill to be their franchise starter. He'll be signed somewhere as a bridge (ie. Washington) or as a solid backup.

I wouldn't even trade half a bologna sandwich for that kid.

Straight up for Hyde. We have our backup situation set. Now all we need is a starter!

In a trade, the acquiring team takes on the remaining contract (unless a restructured/new contract is worked out with the player). An acquiring team for Tannehill would have him under contract for 2 more years, with base salaries of $18.7m and $19.5m. Not sure any team wants to pay him that much. He'll be a tough trade for the Phins.

I wouldn't trade for Tannehill with that salary, but I'd definitely take a look at him once he gets cut.

You do realize that Tannehill's rating the last four seasons is better than Blake's best year, right?

If he hits FA then he may be a prospect for backup.
