  • Allen is the starting SAM... he might sub in some packages as a DE (maybe in the new version of the "three LEO")
  • Michael Walker lands a spot as a Return Specialist and the 5th WR knocking Cunningham and Cole off the roster
  • Blue takes over as the 3rd downs back with David Williams taking over as the 4th RB
  • Dimitri Flowers makes the roster as the FB  (McCray or Ankou is waived on defense to make room)
  • Ogbuehi makes it as the final OL over Stallings
  • One of the UDFA Safeties (Wingard or Woods) makes the roster at S over CJ Reavis

I actually intended to edit out McCray and missed it when I was revising the OP.

Flowers is 50/50 to me. I'd welcome the addition. Don't know Flip's mind on it yet.

I think Cunningham is the defacto 3rd down back until someone proves batter. Blue doesn't have the hands. He's just a backup to LF and the rook as a power runner to me. Niot a 3rd down guy. Different skillset.

The Stallings spot - see above posting on the matter.
I have zero faith in Ogbuehi until proven otherwise. Could be a number of guys that claim that last o-line depth spot. Maybe even someone not on the roster yet. Would be surprised if it's Ogbuehi actually.
The backup safeties are a toss up to me right now.

I don't think Allen will be the starting SAM as his rotational role in the front four will prevent that.

Blue can catch. Cunningham is a little better as a receiver, but Blue has been the Texans 3rd downs RB and has plenty of catches. He's also great with the blitz pickup, so I don't see any issues with him in that spot. Blue doesn't fumble, and he's much better actually rushing than Cunningham.

On Ogbuehi, I'm thinking all of his issues would be covered up playing inside, and he has played RT if they ever need him there in a clinch.

I'm convinced after Capers and Wash get together and hash out a plan that we'll see Allen in the SAM much more than you're thinking. The only times you'll see him at DE is when we're in the nickel or dime and don't have a SAM out there.
