Jalen Ramsey has asked for trade (merged)

Some interesting points. From Ramsey's draft class. We saw Goff get paid, Elliott get paid and Wentz get paid. Ramsey's been just as consistent, healthier and played at an all-pro level.

They extended Telvin Smith, he sits out for this year. They released Church, Gipson & Jackson and they decide to extend Myles Jack, who gets ejected during week one.

Here it is now, they've yet to extend Ngakoue. Yet, they're eating a $16M cap hit for Bortles to play in another uniform. They also proceeded to draft replacement players between Taven Bryan, Ronnie Harrison, Josh Allen and Quincy Williams.

They also shelled out for Nick Foles and proceeded to make Brandon Linder the highest paid Center in football who can't play a full season. And they paid Andrew Norwell at the time which made him the highest paid left guard I believe. He's also underwhelmingly performed.

I can see why some fans are frustrated. And I can see why some of the players are frustrated. In Ramsey's case? It's understandably and deservingly frustrating.

This front office is a [BLEEP] joke. Between Caldwell, Coughlin and Marrone. They've been an embarrassment. And stop bringing up 2017. That was a classic one off season during a year where the AFC South had no Luck and no Watson to contest with.

We played some more creampuff teams that year too. And we had to pull trick play after trick play out of our [BLEEP] on special teams just to keep the offense on the field.

We're fixing to see Caldwell and Coughlin ship away the best player this team has probably fielded since the days of Jimmy Smith and Tony Boselli. And they will more than likely be fired by January of next year.

Khan has to clean this up. Khan has to get this right in 2020. I am not sure how much value they will get for Ramsey. But Khan MUST hire a proven winner at the General Manager position. And that General Manager MUST hire a proven winner at the Head Coaching position.

This front office though has to go. Caldwell should have been shown the door in 2016 along with Bradley. That draft class now is no good if you ship Ramsey off, continue to draw out Ngakoue's extension in Jacksonville and then extend the WEAKEST link of that trio in Myles Jack first.

Just disrespectful and dissapointing. But it's pretty clear that Caldwell, Coughlin and Marrone have lost that lockeroom and lost a lot of respect by the few elite players they have left. Khan has to step up, step in and clean this [BLEEP] up for moving forward.

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Ramsey didn't like bad HC and bad DC, and he didn't like the other bad HC and bad DC. We have that in common, I don't like these two sets of awful coaches either.

Exactly

The reason Tunsil netted so much is because he is a young, promising LT. Left Tackles are a premium position in the NFL and next to QB, have the highest value to teams. They saw Tunsil as having the possibility of being an elite LT in the next 3 years. If he turns into that, well they made a good deal. If he is anything other than elite by that time, then they got hosed. I don't expect Ramsey to get that much in return, because CB's don't have the value of a LT. That's just the way the NFL is. I do expect us to get back at least two first round picks or a first, a third and a good, established player at a position of need or else there is no sense in trading him.

And on top of that Bill O’brien’s seat is extremely warm and he needs to win now.

I always find it interesting how someone can determine a coach lost the locker room with no access to the players or what goes on in the locker room.  There wasn't one player that I saw interviewed that questioned the two-point call or showed a lack of respect for the coaching staff. Can you show any proof or facts that support your determination that the coaches have lost the locker room?

Exactly.

This whole situation is a mess and it started with the fluke 2017 offseason/season. Firing Bradley but keeping all of his assistants. Drafting Fournette instead of drafting for the future. Playing god awful QBs which led to a 10-6 record and people thinking Blake is good. Then doubling down on Blake when it was clear he was bad. Then drafting Taven Bryan instead of guards/tight ends when they were a clear area of weakness.

They should have just completely cleaned house after Bradley but instead, they basically kept everything the same.

When Telvin Smith sits out a year. Jalen Ramsey wants out. Ngakoue is unhappy with contract talks. Myles Jack gets ejected. Fournette throws punches and has a sit down in the off season and most of those guys are considered team "Captains".

You've lost a lot in that lockeroom. Just because the 2nd year players and new faces on offense [Who got paid up front] are being non vocal about it doesn't mean there's not a problem.

Marrone is simply not a good enough football coach to lead an entire football team in the NFL. I have seen enough. It's time to move on before we continue to lose more and more talent due to incompetent decision makers in the front office and coaching staff.

And I also DO NOT condone Ramsey's behavior. You can be disgruntled and behave with professionalism. Ngakoue is doing it correctly. But there's no winning in this situation. They'll have to shop Ramsey around now. He forced their hand unfortunately and most men are prideful.

Especially old New Yorkers like Marrone and Coughlin. It's bittersweet. But I believe they ALL [Ramsey, Marrone, Wash, Caldwell & Coughlin] need to go after all of this nonsense.

Have they lost the lockerroom or is the lockerroom full of headcases?  Nagkoue is the only true professional out of those players you listed.  He has done everything the right way but the team decided not to "overpay" for him.  Which I think is a mistake.

But i do agree that all those people you listed need to go.  The coaches/front office were likely on their way out before this.  Khan has spent a ton of money and this team just isnt as good as it should be.  But you can't allow an immature player like Ramsey look like he won because this will only enable his personality in the future.  What will he do if he doesnt like the next coach?  Throw a bigger tantrum.  He needs to go.

You guys remember that Jags had a problem with Rison a few years back. Once they traded him, the team started playing like a team. I like Ramsey. He is super talented. That said, one personality that causes division can do more damage than we realize. If we get a decent haul from the trade, I'd be for it. This one really has me on the fence.

This is my position as well. If you “Give in” to Ramsey, what happens if the next coach decides to run zone schemes, or have a different game plan outside of man? Do you fire him too? How about the coordinator? Should we just hire Ramsey as the coach and coordinator so that he can do what he wants whenever he wants?

What you do is ask the potential coaches if they are set in their ways and their schemes or if they are willing to adapt to the skill sets of their players. If they say the former then you stop the interview on the spot and tell them thanks for their time but they can leave now.

Nqakoue was offed 19 mil and I don't think he is worth any more money. Nothing I have heard about Talvin Smith sitting out was about the coaches or team. Calais seemed to indicate that Talvin was dealing with personal issues. I am in complete agreement with you on the lack of discipline by players that has been the result of bonehead penalties. That falls directly on Marrone's shoulders.  As for Myles contract, the team has to manage the cap and there was no way they could give both Nqakoue and Jalen contracts this year. So when Yan refused his contract they had the money to sign Myles and get one player our of the way. I can't say Marrone did not lose the locker room but I don't think you have proof he did. As for Marrone he is on the hot seat and may very well be gone this year or next.

Taken me a couple hours to catch all up here since I got up.

Many of you make great points about taking different approaches to solving this "problem".
The irony to me is Khan hired Tom to keep him from having to deal with day to day stuff and I presume major stuff as well.
Yet here we are ..... day to day frustrations blowing up to MAJOR stuff.

Where does the Big 'Stache step in? ....or does he? He made it clear that at minimum only a winning season is acceptable from the current
FO .....and I would think that includes TC. Since it appears that outcome has little or no chance of happening.
Let's start the process now.

The only solution I see is for TC to "retire" ,after removing Marrone and promoting Flip to HC - temp ....... Khan taking over the Team as an active owner until season end (when coaching carousel starts) and having a meet with Ramsey, Caldwell and Wash. Get everyone on the same page until season end ....(Ramsey's beef seems more with Marrone?)
And let's see where we go ......if Ramsey still wants out ....Caldwell has the whole rest of the season to find him a home.

Not complicated .....Marrone out....TC retire ......hopefully , the CB who said he wanted to retire a Jaguar happy,
owner can be on lookout for new hC (assuming Flip doesn't excel) and maybe even a new gM.

Long story short....it's time for the Big Man to step in.

He is super talented. That said, one personality that causes division can do more damage than we realize. If we get a decent haul from the trade, I'd be for it. This one really has me on the fence.

this same nonsense argument was used last year when Fowler was traded.
Also, Rison was nowhere near the player that Jalen is currently.

Jalen needs to be a Jaguar, simple as that.
